    Not what I was expecting

by Disappointed on 1/28/24The Oncenter Carrier Theater - Syracuse

Not worth the money spent on tix. Not sure if I didn’t realize this was a low budget production or not. Actors did a great job. The audio and sound was horrible!!! At times the music drowned out the words and sometimes the actors mics were not on. Props were much like high schools musicals.

Left a lot to be desired

by Momma H on 1/25/24The Oncenter Carrier Theater - Syracuse

I love most Disney sponsored events, for I know the quality will be top notch. I assumed that this musical would fall into that category, for the tickets were being sold on Ticketmaster and the Disney brand was attached to it. However, after paying $65 per ticket, driving an hour to see the musical with inclement weather, and of course dressing in theme ; I was left disappointed and flabbergasted at what I witnessed. The musical was NOT a Disney production, but more like a high school production. Think low budget, poor audio, awful handmade imagery and props, and decent costumes at times. I would never have spent $65 for 2 tickets let alone one ticket. The quality presented was more in line with $20 per ticket, not to mention driving an hour for this production. The actors could sing and dance, but the production and performances overall left a lot, and I mean A LOT to be desired.

    Not as expected

by JH on 1/24/24The Oncenter Carrier Theater - Syracuse

The play was ok if you had expected it to be a private theater group... but based on the price of the tickets and the description I thought it was going to be a Disney Production of the Disney series (Similar to Disney Live or Disney on Ice). The play quality was comparable to our local school play performance. The mics didn't work all the time, or there was feedback from it or you could hear their breathing. Definitely a disappointment.

    Not a great show….

by Nana on 1/24/24The Oncenter Carrier Theater - Syracuse

The story line followed the first movie plot and was as expected, when adapted for stage. The actors were not the best, singing voices for most were poor quality. There were 2 characters that sounded really good, but the majority not so much. The sound system kept cutting out periodically, which of course didn’t help the voices. The dance scenes were uncoordinated and some were out of step. The children in the audience who were in the 5-9 age range really appeared to enjoy the play. For me and my teen aged grandkids, we’ve seen better High School musicals at a much cheaper price. It was disappointing!

    Disappointed

Though I feel the performers had a lot of talent, this show was disappointing, especially based on the price.

    Not what you think...

by Russ on 1/24/24The Oncenter Carrier Theater - Syracuse

Production was terrible. Couldn't hear half the performers. Lights were never in sync. For the price of $65 and the advertising everyone thought this was a professional production... it is far from that. Wouldn't recommend going and wish we could get our money back. It was so bad, at the end of the first 1/2 a kid towards the front yelled, "oh good. It's over!".

    Unhappy

by Cae on 1/24/24The Oncenter Carrier Theater - Syracuse

The worst show I have ever seen. Sound was terrible. Set was awful. Costumes were horrible. Show did not flow well. Ended up leaving shorty after intermission. So upset I wasted the money on tickets to see that.

Very poor sound control; not a professional production

by Joe the GOM on 1/23/24The Oncenter Carrier Theater - Syracuse

We were extremely disappointed with this production and would rank it as a way overpriced, high school or community college quality production at best. Especially bad was the sound control, clearly run by someone who did not know what they were doing. The music frequently drowned out the actors making it impossible to hear what they were singing or saying and consequently hard to follow the story line. Some actors either were not wearing mikes or their mikes were not on during their dialogue. Even when there was no music I could see that they were saying something but could not hear them—and I was sitting in the sixth row. The sets were simple movable panels and I’ve seen better in high school shows. The actors spanned the entire range from one who was professional caliber all the way down to some who truly were no better than high school drama club members, with the majority on the low end of that scale. I left feeling that I’d been duped into expecting something far more polished given the price and venue.

The performance was nice. I thought it would alot better for the amount of the tickets. The kids enjoyed it.

    Meh

by Mama on 1/23/24The Oncenter Carrier Theater - Syracuse

I don’t know if it was the location or if it was the production but at best it was a high school play. The sound was horrible, couldn’t hear half of what was going on and I was in the 1st row. My kids said it was cringy and for the price I was very very disappointed!
