Terrible. Awkward casting of ages for roles. Prince Erik had young kids as his shipmen and the princesses who he was "choosing from" looked way underage. Ursula was annoying and singing needed a lot of work

by Almartin86 on 8/6/13Burnsville Performing Arts Center - BurnsvilleI took my two daughters to this musical and we had a blast! We could not stop laughing at the crab and got goosebumps when Ariel sang! We liked how the whole cast waited for us after the play to thank us and take pictures! We will go to another play for sure!
Rating: 5 out of 5 Little Mermaid Jr. did not disappoint!
by daddydatenight on 8/6/13Burnsville Performing Arts Center - BurnsvilleTook my daughter on a surprise daddy date night. She was so excited, she had a smile on her face the whole time. The kids did an amazing job in the play and it was a perfect length, with a nice intermission. My daughter got to meet Ariel at the end of the performance and she was awesome.
Rating: 3 out of 5 Good times
by OnnestAbe on 8/6/13Burnsville Performing Arts Center - BurnsvilleThe set and costumes are well done. Children especially will enjoy this production. The cast overall does a good job, but standouts who are exceptional are those who play Arial, Sabestian, Scuttle, Ursula and her two evil sidekicks, and the French Cook! The auditorium is fantastic for viewing the show and parking is free and easy.

Rating: 4 out of 5by Mel2 on 8/6/13Burnsville Performing Arts Center - Burnsville The Little Mermaid Jr was a very fun production. I took my 8 year old son to the show. The singing was really good, and my son liked how the actors used heeleys shoes to imitate swimming by moving fast without running. Ariel was a great singer, and all of the children were fun to watch. I would recommend this show to others for a nice night out at the theater.
Rating: 3 out of 5 The Little Mermaid Jr : loved the kids
by h0n3y on 8/5/13Burnsville Performing Arts Center - BurnsvilleThis was the first time that I attended a play at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center. I was disappointed only because the volunteers (at least I hope they weren't paid) were not knowledgeable. We had balcony seats and they admitted us to the main floor. The elevator is a joke..people finally used the stairs. There was no helpful signage to help us navigate. It was so cold in the theater that I was shivering and it took away from the enjoyment of the play. I'm sorry that I have to give a bad review because of the venue because the children were talented.
Rating: 5 out of 5by AuntKate15 on 8/5/13Burnsville Performing Arts Center - Burnsville My 4-year-old niece really enjoyed the show. It kept her attention the whole time and she was so excited during all the singing and dancing. She loved seeing other "kids" as the actors and getting to take her picture after the show. The only part that was a little tough was when the play included new songs that weren't from the movie - she is obsessed with the Little Mermaid movie, so any time it deviated from that, she got frustrated. I liked that it didn't match the movie exactly, but I would warn any others to prep their children that it might not be "just like the movie." :)
Rating: 2 out of 5 too expensive & too amateurish
by LZMM on 8/5/13Burnsville Performing Arts Center - BurnsvilleI was a bit surprised about how amateurish this play was for the price. With it having a DISNEY name and sponsorship to it, I was expecting more than what we got. It was all run and acted out by local community child actors....which I guess I missed that note when I bought the tickets. The child actors were good...some better than others. But the costumes were poor...looked like they were constructed on a tight budget for kids. Most kids had tennis shoes on which were not fully covered up..including little mermaid herself. The microphones were not loud enough I know these kids worked hard to do a nice play for the audient and it was just fine for little kids to see, but I thought the cost for what you got was quite ridiculous. It should have been more like under the $10 range.
Rating: 2 out of 5 The Little Mermaid~ amateur community theater
by Anonymous on 8/5/13Burnsville Performing Arts Center - BurnsvilleWhen I bought the tickets for this production I was not aware that it was an amateur childrens community theater production. Had I known this I would NOT have bought the tickets and traveled the 3 hours it takes me to go! That being said, FOR an amateur community theater childrens production- the show was pretty good. This was my 2nd time at the Burwnsville Performing Arts Center and at both visits I found the ushers to be very unfriendly. Also, not to be a negative nelly, but the art gallery had an extremely high percentage of 'nude art' dispalyed during this childrens production. Normally I would not think anything of it- but the majority of the pieces were naked women and my seven year old was wide eyed in shock. The high percentage of nude art may have warranted a parental warning sign. I know I would have appreciated it and steered clear.

Rating: 5 out of 5 Disney's Little Mermaid Jr
by julierk on 11/12/12Lexington Opera House - LexingtonMyself and 8 yr old guest enjoyed this musical play very much. It was performed by mostly 4th and 5th graders. They did an exceptional job. The sets and props were well done . It was apparent that a lot of preparation went into the production of this play. Very talented young people. No doubt there are a lot of dedicated parents and teachers...that put a great deal of effort into the event.
