Pittsburgh - Performance Art
Known as “the Steel City,” Pittsburgh maintains a proud history as one of America’s industrial centers. But as the largest metropolitan area in all of Appalachia, there’s much more to Pittsburgh than iron and steel. The city’s major league sports teams include the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers, MLB’s Pittsburgh Pirates and the Pittsburgh Penguins of the NHL, giving sports fans things to do in Pittsburgh year-round. Meanwhile, a wide variety of cultural events in Pittsburgh also take place frequently — among them are Pittsburgh Fringe Festival, 3 Rivers Comicon, Anthrocon, Tekko, Picklesburgh and the Millvale Music Festival.
