Built along the Grand River east of Lake Michigan, Grand Rapids is known as Beer City USA. Things to do in Grand Rapids include rooting for the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League at Van Andel Arena, cheering on the newly-formed Grand Rapids SC, and enjoying the city’s reputation as a craft beer cultural hotspot with music-filled brewery events. Grand Rapids events include the annual Festival of the Arts, Pulaski Days (celebrating the city’s Polish heritage) and the international art competition ArtPrize with its associated 17-day festival each September.
