About

Dirty Heads in Concert

Dirty Heads have been spreading their California vibes from coast to coast ever since breaking out in 2008 with their infectious reggae-meets-rap jams. Sporting hoodies and grungy long hair, the Orange County, California natives know how to get the party started at their live shows as they tear through catchy hits like "Stand Tall" and "Lay Me Down". Dirty Heads will have fans "Driftin" along as they tour with Pepper in support of their 2014 release Sound of Change.

Reggae-rock duo Dirty Heads formed after Jared "Dirty J" Watson and Dustin "Duddy B" Bushnell bonded over their mutual love for rap music at a high school party. After the addition of three more members, the band released their mixtape The Dirty Demos in 2007. Several of the tracks from the album landed on their 2008 breakout debut Any Port In A Storm, a shining release that peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Alternative chart and launched the band to stardom. Dirty Heads have proven to be mainstays in the reggae community thanks to their catchy tunes and thrilling live tours with the likes of 311 and Matisyahu. Their latest string of shows with Pepper will keep reggae fans' heads bobbing and feature new material from 2014's Sound of Change.

In the summer of 2019, 311 is touring with Dirty Heads for what they said will be a hybrid of "alternative sound and good vibes." The U.S. tour runs July 2-Aug. 20. They will be joined by pop trios Dreamers and Bikini Trill for all shows, with special guest performances by The Interrupters on all but six dates.

Atmosphere killed it. Dirty heads fell short.

by Sunshine on 10/21/23Tom Moffatt Waikiki Shell - Honolulu

Atmosphere opened the show and killed it. Dirtyheads really fell short of what I expected. It was like I was at a drunk-filled party where everyone was wasted and the singer sang off key most of the time while walking onstsge shirtless. The brass section was the most talented and the whole show. Atmosphere was lit. Dirty heads was mediocre at best. One-and-done kine.

    Atmosphere good. Dirty Heads bad.

by Mike on 10/19/23Tom Moffatt Waikiki Shell - Honolulu

Title says it all… Atmosphere did what they do every time and brought the house down. This was my first time seeing dirty heads live and I hope it will be the last. The lead singer could not hit his notes. Not even close. Couldn’t take it any longer so we left early. Venue ran out of beer at 8PM also so that was another big fail. Also, something must have been wrong with the sound system because the show sounded awful in the expensive seats but sounded pretty good back on the lawn. So glad I paid extra for good seats.

    Great venue, great show!

by Zoog1978 on 10/18/23Tom Moffatt Waikiki Shell - Honolulu

We were in Waikiki for vacation and happened to be here for this show. The venue is small making for a close up experience. Super reasonably priced Ad well. Dirty Heads played all the classics, Vacation, Oxygen, even Sloths Revenge. Great experience!

    Best Show EVER!

by Stephanie on 10/17/23Tom Moffatt Waikiki Shell - Honolulu

I’ve been blessed to attend a ton of concerts in my life and I can say that this one was one of the best of all. I’ve been listening to Atmosphere for 23 years. This was the second time they came to Hawaii. Excellent performance. Slug crushed it! I took all of my kids who were also rapping the lyrics. The Dirty Heads didn’t disappoint either. They played all most of their greatest songs. The sound and lighting was epic. Go to this show! 10/10

We specifically went to Hawaii to see them. Saw them in Irvine and at reggae rise up. And the Hawaii venue and the performance was outstanding. Love them

    Disappointed ☹️

by 808V on 10/17/23Tom Moffatt Waikiki Shell - Honolulu

The Dirty Heads show was too short. Felt rushed. Too much time for the cover bands. Also, beer ran dry at the opening of Dirty Heads first song. What’s up with that??? Two hours left of the show and no more beer???? Very poor planning on the Shell’s vendors.

When you hope they play their good songs but don't...

    by JC on 8/29/23

We hoped to hear their alternative/reggae beachy music that we've heard from them over the years, but it sounded like they just wanted to be white rappers. Kept waiting to hear their good songs but just lost interest and left early. Disappointing. The opening act was also pretty lost between genres and still not sure what they were trying to sound like...

    Dirty Heads were Amazing

    by Jeremy on 8/8/23

Dirty Heads was one of my favorite artists I've ever seen live! I was super stoked to see them and was impressed by their live show. 5 out of 5 stars for sure. However, I was more than a little disappointed that Little Stranger didn't open for Dirty Heads as the listing promised when purchasing my tickets originally for the event. I also thoroughly enjoyed Bikini Trill. They did a great job warming up the crowd. But it would have been so much better to see Little Stranger instead of Lupe Fiasco. Lupe Fiasco was ok, but not up to par with the status of Dirty Heads.

    by emmmmleee on 8/7/23

5th time seeing Dirty Heads. I’m such a big fan! The Coca Cola Roxy was a nice venue. I loved that it was too big and had some GA seats available. The show was sounded good and they hit all of their bangers. 10/10 will see again.
