Great events, lots of free stuff which the kids AND adults loved, and the participants were so nice and accomodating! Shaun White interrupted his dinner to take a picture with me and my friends! Awesome event!!!!
Ever since 2006 I have watched the Dew Tour and tought that it would be awesome to watch live. I was told that this year it would be in Ocean City and just had to come, im so glad that I did. From here on out I will do whatever I can to come back whenever the Dew Tour hits the east coast! Sorry Ringling Brothers but the Dew Tour is the Greatest Show on Earth! The only bad thing I could say about it was the seating.
I took my son to the finals on Sunday and he had a blast. There was a slight rain delay and some confusion about getting into the stadium once it opened but the show was awesome!
Once things got started after the 5+ hour rain delay, the crew and volunteers worked hard to get things moving. The athletes respected one another and the crowd and were ready to take their run when the clock was reset. The organizers also realized the skate was what more people were there to see and instead of making it the finale as originally planned, started with skate after the delay. It was amazing to see the 14 year old run with the big boys, but also great to see the "local" guy win it all. I look forward to the Dew Tour returning to Ocean City next year.
General Admission was not worth the money. We could have seen what we saw without paying the money. We had to wait in lines for hours only to have to stand in the sand to watch the Vert finals. The people behind us sitting on the beach didn't pay a cent and got to sit on beach chairs.

The Dew Tour bmx and skateboard vert finals were scheduled at 2 and 4:30 respectively on Sunday, July 24. Because of the weather (lightning and rain) we did not see either final. Apparently the vert finals began after 4 probably closer to 5 or 6. Since we are from Baltimore and had work related obligations we had to leave by 6. We did get an opportunity to visit the booths that were set up and even got a skateboarder to sign my son's skateboard and take a picture with him. That was nice. If only the weather would have cooperated it would have been amazing.
I though the event was terrible. If I knew there was not enough seating I would have never ordered tickets. We waited 3 hours in the rain, and when my friends and I got in, we couldn't see anything. The tickets were way over sold. When we were walking around to what we thought were seats we passed a lot of people who were walking out looking disgruntled and we soon figured out why. When we got to the standing area, it was so crowded and the spot lights were shining in the standing direction so i don't know how any one saw anything being blinded by those huge lights... Terrible idea.So not only and I still unemployed, I'm out $70 for no reason. And having to work Monday there was no way I could have stayed that late anyway. This was my first time to see a Dew Tour Event and I was highly not impressed and would NEVER go again since now I know the Dew tour does a less then par job and working out times and seating. I know I will be going to the X Games, they have been around much much longer and I wonder why. They do it right.
It was amazing, the level of endurance that these athletes exhibited during the heat wave at this stop (OC Maryland).. it was excruciating. but they put it all out there and did it!!!! This was my first Dew Tour, and would love to attend another one if offered on the east coast again next year! I took a friend that was not interested in these sporting events... but by the end of the weekend, she had already found a favorite skater. She totally enjoyed the show that everyone put on. the weather delay and technical/ lighting difficulties made for a long sunday, but well worth it!!
Weather was awful and we were up and down the seats a few times. Ocean City was not especially accomodating but the event made up for it. Kids loved it.
I understand the rain delay can't be helped; but the disorganization of the event is unforgiveable. First we wait at the will call window for tickets. Then we get in an hour line to get your arm-band. One (yes that's correct) one guy was putting arm bands on hundreds of people. Then we get in another line to enter the stadium. If you aren't in front of the stampede that rushes the stadium you are going to be near the last in line. People were getting run over when they opened the gates. It was just like herding cattle. The stadium is probably four times oversold...so we had to stand for two hours on the beach in a mosh pit crowd where people were smoking and crowded together.. $35 per ticket to stand for two hours on the beach is not the experience we were planning on...and ESpecially not entering the stadium line in a stampede. Joke.
great event...so much pressure on Bucky and he delivered...I hope they return to Ocean City for many years to come!!!
This was a great event, even with the rain. We were so close and it was just great! Hope they come back to town again!
Although Mother Natue was not in our favor all weekend, This was awesome. I look forward to they coming back next year, I hope!!! What a great time and a great crowd. The only negative comment I have is the concert. This is a family friendly beach town and they used the N word and the F word numerous times. I would have preferred Rock music which would coinside with the music used to skate and bike to.
This was an awesome event! It is a great thing to do with the family! We have a family of 6 and we had a great time! Can not wait for next year!

My boys, 8 & 11, had the best "day" ever! Not only did they love all the events, the athletes were amazing and so friendly to the children. We brought general admission tickets and my kids got to meet the athletes, get autographs, pictures and free stuff. Thank you to those that organized the event, sponsors and athletes.
Even with dangerous temputares, this event rocked! There were cooling stations, free water and plenty of medical staff on site. The spectators and particpants faired well through the heat wave and we look forward to next year!

Dew tour was very enjoyable for my entire family. All the atheletes were super. It really was exciting to watch. I only hope the tour returns to OC, Maryland.
