The Venue was amazing! Staff was very helpful. The show started off with Haken which I am a new fan of....very tight. The Contortionist did not disappoint. I love them and then Devin and crew... oh my Lord. This planet can’t handle so much greatness! He is an amazing arranger/producer/performer
Totall forgot abouth the concert. Daily life sucks as we get sucked into trance doing exactly the same thing we did yesterday. Its as if the dream we live in lets us go at night but then again drags into the abyss in the morning only to re-live the very same thing we try to escape. Its sad that even email reminders go unnoticed. Its dark very dark. Oh yeah coronavirus too.
Devin always delivers a fantastic show. Funny stage presence, but when you talk to him, he's a true genuine person.
I enjoyed Devin Townsend. Enjoyed the performance, loved the banter. However, I do wish he'd had more direction. I understand it was his first time performing without backing tracks, but the show seemed quite disjointed. He has a HUGE catalog, and wants to touch all the bases, but I think overall, it ruins the quality of the performance, because it has a real lack of theme and direction. Because he intends on doing mellower stuff on the second leg of the tour, I was anticipating a much heavier feel, but left sort of disappointed. Sure, he did a Strapping Young Lad song, but it was a far cry from the cruise show he recently did. The show frequently went from one direction to a completely different one, and it left a feeling like it was lost. I think he'd do a lot better in the future if he picked a mood for the show and stuck with it. If you wanna play a mellow show, stick to mellow stuff. If you want to do a fun poppy show, stick to that. If you wanna stick to a rock or metal show, stay with that material. Otherwise, it doesn't give the audience a chance to settle in. Just my two cents. Haken was ok. Contortionist was good, except for the singer. I've seen banana peels on my kitchen counter with more charisma.

Whenever you see Devin live it is not just a concert, but an experience. His vocal range can leave you feeling a spectrum of emotions. I highly recommend seeing him live if you are a open minded fan of rock and metal music.
Went for The Contortionist and they rocked, great set. Haken was a’ight (loved their instrumental song, really well done) but hadn’t even heard of Devin til I got the tickets for the show. Would definitely go see him again. Great stage presence and even though I didn’t know any of the songs, I’ve got a playlist for him now and looking forward to seeing him next time he’s in the area.
Whether you like his creative direction or not, his stage presence gets better with every show. He brings musical intensity and humor together brilliantly.
If your thinking about going out to see Devin Townsend... don't think about it... GO!!! I'm at about 100 Live shows a year, this was one of the best I've ever seen. Absolutely fantastic.
