Detroit Red Wings History

Founded in 1926, the Red Wings are one of the NHL's Original Six franchises. The team has captured 11 Stanley Cup Championships, most recently in 2008, as well as six conference championships and 19 division titles. As of 2023, the Red Wings have the most Stanley Cup trophies of any U.S.-based NHL franchise. Eight Red Wings players have their jersey numbers hanging from the Little Caesars Arena rafters: Leonard Patrick “Red” Kelly, Terry Sawchuk, Nicklas Lidström, Ted Lindsay, Gordie Howe, Alex Delvecchio, Sid Abel, and Steve Yzerman.

The Red Wings were purchased in 1982 by Mike and Marian Ilitch, who invested their family savings in 1959 to open the first Little Caesars store in a Detroit suburb.

  • Overall good

    by Dee420 on 1/10/23Little Caesars Arena - DetroitRating: 4 out of 5

Seating is just to small through your the whole arena. I’m not a big person about 135 lbs and 5 foot tall. But I feel smooshed in the seats. Very little shoulder room. And the people in the row behind you their knees are in your head.

  • Like the arena and the All other thing

by Mr green on 1/7/23Little Caesars Arena - DetroitRating: 3 out of 5

But the seats were so small I Could not move without hitting the other person I felt like I could not move at all In my seat without bothering the person Could not even cheer for the team very bad seating in M16 row 2 If all the other seats are like those I Definitely will not come back

  • Good but not great

by Let's Go Red Wings on 1/3/23Little Caesars Arena - DetroitRating: 3 out of 5

LCA is something else -- one of the most impressive arenas around. Game was good... hard to see the action from the upper deck with all the people standing in front of me though. People apparently don't wait for the whistle anymore -- there was a constant stream of people getting up in the middle of the action. Someone was vaping a couple of seats away from me. Ushers... where the heck are you?!

  • Never Again

by Grumpy on 1/3/23Little Caesars Arena - DetroitRating: 1 out of 5

Parked .04 miles away. Walked through Detroit, scarry. Waited in long line to enter, 80 yr old mother told purse too big had to take back to car or check it in. Same purse allowed at Fox a week earlier. Beer/ Wine Very Expensive at over $ 14 ea. Seats were way to small and steps were dangerously steep and hard to walk. Never coming back to LCA !!

  • Left out in the D.

by Jim B. on 12/20/22Little Caesars Arena - DetroitRating: 3 out of 5

Love the Wings. Love LCA. Love the D. The in game experience for folks in the upper bowl is more than lacking. You can't see the top of the scoreboard. Unless you know to look for the banners after the game starts you'll never see those. No giveaway items are even possible, and forget any chance of being on the scoreboard and feeling like you are at the game too. For $420 in tickets plus another $30 to insure them ALL FANS should feel included. I did not. Not going to keep me from coming again as I'm a fan and glutton for punishment, but I would rather not have to deal with the continued disappointing experience.

  • Entertainment but the loose again

by WingFan on 12/17/22Little Caesars Arena - DetroitRating: 2 out of 5

Seats were good even though it was 2 for 1 tickets

  • Good seats poor description

by BBB on 12/6/22Little Caesars Arena - DetroitRating: 4 out of 5

We sat in M20 and right behind us was the broadcast booth. It was cool in theory but we had to be stopped before we went in and stressed us out just trying to get to our seats.

  • Over served!

by LGRW on 12/6/22Little Caesars Arena - DetroitRating: 1 out of 5

We had seats in the upper level. I took my wife and our nephew to their first NHL game. During the game we had overly drunk fans that were in a group together in which they sat in the wrong seats and when the people came that sat there took forever to get out of their way. Half way too late in the game, one fan from this group was so drunk he fell in to the row behind us, while he was falling he spilled his entire beer on my wife and it splattered onto my nephew and I. While this fan was trying to get up he continued to fall into our row onto my nephew. Definitely not happy with how much we spent on tickets and not happy with the lack of cutting people off when they are too drunk

  • Not Tall Enough

by Shopper on 11/14/22Little Caesars Arena - DetroitRating: 2 out of 5

Trying to purchase some items were to high to see size and price. No tags to possibly see. I know someone may of helped but could to find anyone. At least leave a tag so where someone could at least see.
