If I get to a show 40 minutes before doors open, I should not miss any part of the show. By the time I got in the doors, the first opener was already playing. This was after I stood in line for more than an hour. Y'all are running a shambolic operation where I can wait in line in the rain for more than an hour and miss part of the opening act. I had a friend who arrived 10 minutes after doors open and missed the entire first act and half of the second act. That's disgusting.
Great show lots of fun aired alright too wasn’t dying even in the pit. Cool people fire music ears were ringing just the right amount after
Destroy Boys puts on a show for the people. My favorite songs played and I turned around and saw hundreds of people in a circle just before a chorus might start, and when a Destroy Boys pit goes hard, it goes HARD. It's a community event, and I still haven't emotionally recovered. Thank you Destroy Boys, you changed my life🖤🖤🖤
Everything was great, from the venue to the crowd and the bands. Openers were amazing and Destroy Boys absolutely killed it.
The venue was great, the band was great, couldn’t have asked for a better experience. My teenager and friends had a blast as did I!
it was a pretty good and entertaining show that i enjoyed
SOOOOOO MUCH FUN OMG!! This was the BEST concert I have EVER experienced, hands down!! I did not expect the energy — everyone shoving and pushing each other, running around. It was all very fun!! When someone fell, someone (or several people) picked them right back up and on their feet. Thank you for such a lively experience!
Very slay behavior. Extremely fun and cool. Awesome music.
I’ve seen Destroy Boys live twice in Seattle and both times they were amazing! I have absolutely no complaints, and wish they made their way up here more often!
My friends band opened for destroy boys so I went to check it out. The venue was unique and fun, however the mix was not the best. Vocals were drowned out by the guitars and drums. Bass was buried. I’m all for philanthropy but a concert with drunk people is not the place to pause from music to talk about why homeless people have a right to housing. In addition, I was not a fan of destroy boys using their concert as an opportunity to share their political beliefs and anti police stance. When I go to a concert I want to hear music. They talk about inclusivity but preached about how police are the enemy. That doesn’t seem very inclusive.
The openers were fun, and the band killed it. Great crowd energy and drink specials. I really appreciate that the menu allowed then learn a community organization before that too
Destroy Boys are full energy and so entertaining to see live. They made the pit a safe place for all those there, and was one of the most fun pits I've been in. They had local grassroots organizations speak to the audience about actions that they can take soon. If you get a chance to see Destroy Boys do it, they're so real and so fun to see live.
High energy, empowering, and a salute to all all our first moshpits.
The show was sick as hell! I’ll most definitely be taking every single opportunity to see these guys again, they rocked!
Had been wanting to see Destroy Boys for a while and they did not disappoint. It was mu buddy's first "Rock Concert" as he put it lol. And he had a great time too; crowd surfed for the first time. TLA has always been a good venue and they continue to bring great shows to Philly.
Destroy boys, absolutely amazing show. They killed it, such a great show and a wonderful crowd. The chemistry between the band was admirable. Everyone was very respectful. Both the openers were excellent, Scowl really got everyone going. 10/10. The venue was gorgeous, the employees were very helpful. I like that there was seating in the back at the 2nd bar. I needed it at one point and was very grateful I had access to it. Clean bathrooms as well. M&ms should not be $5 though.
This was the first punk show I’ve ever been too and it was a great choice! The band made sure everyone was safe and having fun and the music was fantastic!
i cannot fully express how amazing this concert was. if you ever get a chance to see Destroy Boys live, or if you’re just queer and a fan of ACTUAL punk, do it. it was so refreshing to have a band actually make statements and interact with the crowd.
My daughter and I arrived about a half hour before the doors opened. ( Don’t park at the venue’s recommended parking garage before 6pm. What I thought was going to cost me $6 as advertised online ended up costing me $30- on a weeknight, park right next door for $7- lesson learned ) My kiddo and I got in quickly and I secured a stool with a good view of the stage. My 17 year old waited there while I purchased a couple slices and sodas for under $10(!). I tipped the chef $5. As the kids piled in the venue and secured their spot close to the stage I had a conversation with another parent who had brought their teen. She is no familiarity with the band ( or Spotify for that matter ) so I clued her in on the energy that was to follow. The openers , “Backhand”( the greatest band in the world ) came out and the crowd went crazy for their silly party anthems. They were pretty funny. Scowl followed them. Although not my usual taste in music - a little too relentlessly “screamy” for me- they brought a ton of energy and aggression which the crowd enjoyed as well. Destroy Boys’ frontperson ( they/them pronouns) came out with some representatives from a charity that helped the homeless to whom a portion of the proceeds of the show would be donated and they reminded all assembled that the US sits on stolen land and there is still plenty to be angry about. Then the band came out and completely obliterated everyone with a short but powerful set of fast and powerful punk/thrash/pop/rock songs to the delight of the moshing/slam dancing/crowd surfing/teens and twentysomethings of various diverse genders and hairstyles. I let my kid trade in her stilettos for my “Dad Vans” so she could jump and push and dance with her contemporaries while I sat back in my socks with a bit of pepperoni pizza induced heartburn ( pizza has a little spice to it ) and a huge smile. Great little venue, tasty pizza, amazing band, and an all around extraordinary evening.
