    Save your dollars

by Allie on 4/12/23Hall des Lumières - New York

My bf loves everything space so I got this for him as a surprise early birthday gift and I have to be honest it wasn’t what I hoped it would be. Last month we went to the Kennedy space center and we’re hoping for it to come close to that experience for $100 but it failed us. Very unorganized! You just go in and figure it out. After you watch a looped video with no audio (have to read all the text, with children being children and running around and constant chatter) you go downstairs only to realize that that’s actually we’re you should have watch the looped video from the start. It’s a cooler looking area and less of a crowd down there and it’s the SAME video you watched without all the noise from upstairs. Luckily, my bf is a great sport and didn’t complain about it because he knew it was a gift but him and I BOTH know we’ve experienced better for that dollar amount (whether he admits it to me or not lol) so save your coin and just go out to eat instead :)

    Not so great

by Mr Trousers on 4/12/23Hall des Lumières - New York

A big screen and music does not make an “immersive experience.” The pictures were great, the info surface level and I left without learning much new. There were 3 or 4 rooms but they all showed the same video on screens of differing sizes. Also lots of young children running around (not their fault) but most 2 or 3 year olds aren’t going to be interested in astronomy.

    Destination cosmos

by Jo on 4/11/23Hall des Lumières - New York

In the iconic Hall des lumieres in chambers street. Beautiful building and the presentation was beautiful but not enough rooms and not engaging enough. I thought I was going to be wowed by the event but it just left me wanting more. Lighting and effects were nice but overall kind of boring. Especially for $30.

Fine, might be awesome if you are not sober

by RC on 4/11/23Hall des Lumières - New York

The initial experience of walking into the space is very cool, but the novelty wears off quickly. Some parts of the exhibition are fun, with sweeping shots of Mars and Jupiter being notable, but the actual science and history is pretty week and that seems shameful considering how information dense the exhibit could be. That being said, the space is clean and signage exists. It was not too crowded when I went at 12:30 on a Saturday. The space is nice being an old turn-of-the-century bank and seeing what they did could be more interesting that the exhibit.

    Not as grand as expected

    by E. T. on 4/10/23

I have been to this location for the Gustav Klimt motion pictures and it was a great experience. When I bought the tickets to this event, I thought it would be a great experience just like the last one, but it was sort of a disappointment. Space is so interesting and mesmerizing which leads me to say that they could have definitely done it in a better way - Where you feel absorbed by the vastness. It was just there with some information on the screen and about 30mins long. I won’t say don’t see it because everyone has a different taste. So not for me, but maybe you will like it.
