The small venue was perfect for Dessa's performance. Drinks were reasonable, company was good and E-Turn and Abbey Wolfe was great too! I'm always enchanted by Dessa's albums but listening to her live made me realize she's even more talented than I thought (which I didn't know was possible).
I have been waiting a long time to see her live. Her stage presence is fierce! Aby Wolf has amazing vocals.
The Jackpot is a pretty intimate venue and it was an unforgettable experience. Dessa was personable and funny and she sang her ass off!!
First you had Kuf Knots opening for Dessa. He was surprisingly good. Then you had Abby Wolf who usually performs backing vocals for Dessa, performing her own tracks from her new released solo album. I love Abby, she was very nice and was speaking to the people in the front while setting up and in addition to that she's a great singer. Then Dessa came on and started Dixon's Girl and kept the high energy up all through her entire set. She was fricken fantastic. She apologized to the crowd after saying her voice was fading through the show as a result of recent current events in which the majority of her stuff in her tour van was stolen but she was on fire the entire set. She ended up playing Call Off Your Ghost a second time but in a different way which I thought was awesome. She's amazing and I met her after the show in which she recognized me as "The front and center man" because I was in front the entire time. She joked around with me because when she performed Seamstress, she used me as a support to get down from the stage. All in all, an amazing concert with an amazing performer who most importantly is also an amazing person. Thank you Dessa!
Dessa was fantastic, as usual, but what really stood out was one of the bands who opened for her. Adeema was energetic, driving and political. What a fabulous performance. Also, the Sinclair is a terrific music space and it's been a long time coming for Harvard Square. Up until now, we have only Club Passim (wonderful but TINY) and Regatta Bar (wonderful but not built for large audiences, either) as music specific venues in Harvard Square. The Sinclair really adds to the possibilities for live music in and around Harvard.
An amazing show, with an amazing back-up band, with the amazing Abby Wolf, at a great venue, it couldn't have been better. Dessa put on one of the best shows I've ever seen and then took so much time at the merch table to sign autographs, talk with her fans, and just let folks know she's just a person who loves what she does... If the US music scene was really about music, Dessa and Doomtree would be at the top!
Wow Dessa, WOW. I've seen her play almost a dozen times and this was the best show yet. One of the coolest rap shows I've ever been to!
This is the second time I've seen Dessa live. Dessa's style is captivating. Her songs and storytelling go hand in hand. Not to mention she's a brilliant musician overall. I loved the addition of the strings and mallet instruments to her program.
A fabulous show! I'd heard many of the songs before but the new arrangements were cool. The guitar/piano player was wonderful!
Dessa was ON FIRE!!!! She is an awesome live entertainer!!!!
Dessa is an incredible song writer, and an amazing performer. A must see. She can rock a verse, sing a ballad and make your toes tingle with the words. I just found her this year and she has quickly become one of my favorite artists of all time. She is unforgetable.
Best concert ever. Out of this world! Was sad when it was over.

Quite simply an excellent show. Funny, articulate, great performer/ance. Really enjoyed the live band and Cecil Otter cameo. Took my wife for our anniversary. She wasn't that familiar with Dessa - only knew that I loved her music. Now, she does too.
The performance was more than we could have ever imagined. Her witty monologues combined with her unique vocal talent made the show a fantastic experience. The Fitzgerald was an intimate venue, and our "limited view" seats were much better than expected (right behind the sound booth, so we had a ledge for our drinks)!
Dessa is an amazing performer, I recommend her to everyone!!
