About

Who could have imagined that such a simple concept would lead to such fun? Put a bunch of cars into an arena and let them smash, bang and crash into each other. A long-time favorite, the demolition derby is spectacular, metal-crunching entertainment for the entire family.

    Worst show

by Amanda on 2/21/23Mountain Health Arena - Huntington

Worst show I've ever been to. They started late then had to stop due to the fumes not being ventilated. When they restarted, the fumes were so bad we had to leave. This was bought as a Christmas gift for my nephew and was a total let down.

    Never Going Back

by JimBob3420 on 2/21/23Mountain Health Arena - Huntington

This derby was the worse one I have ever been to. They had to shut it down multiple times because of the exhaust. The cars could bearly move because they put way to many vehicles into one round. I am extremely disappointed and will never spend my money on this event again!

    HORRIBLE

by Va on 2/21/23Mountain Health Arena - Huntington

Drove 3 hours for this Horrible experience. Unorganized. Paid $200 for tickets for the 1st heat to last 3 hours because of ventilation. Absolutely ridiculous. Bunch of West Virginia sandbaggers

    Very unorganized

by Sara on 2/21/23Mountain Health Arena - Huntington

First of all, the Derby was 40 minutes late getting started. The little kids in their Lil Tykes were adorable, but the 20 minutes we watched the parents & officials talk on the track was uncalled for. The first main heat had way too many cars in it! They should have split the field and had two sets of 17 cars. This would have lessened the times they had to shut down for CO2. There were just too many vehicles running in such a small space at one time. I understand shutting it down for safety reasons, but after two hours of waiting for the Derby to start back up my family had enough and we left. I do not recommend this show!

    Sucked

by Kip on 2/21/23Mountain Health Arena - Huntington

Had to stand in line for ever to be told cash only cause card machine was down. Then got tickets online which was a lot more. Couldn’t breathe because of the fumes and the first heat alone was 4 hours.

    Decent derby

by Meg on 2/21/23Mountain Health Arena - Huntington

Ventilation was a major issue in my opinion. Also, the class size needs to be tweaked a little for future derby’s. We enjoys watching but the night was long due to large classes and having to stop and let the arena air out.

    Not so Good

by LT on 2/21/23Mountain Health Arena - Huntington

I’m not sure if the arena had ventilation issues or what, but the cars couldn’t run more then a few minutes before the fire Marshall would shut it down. Wait an hour and go for about another 5-10 minutes. They packed to many cars in the arena at once. Cars couldn’t move around to hit one another. The promoter had a good car count and would have been a great show if the arena would’ve provided a good building to run in.

    Terrible

by Richard J on 2/21/23Mountain Health Arena - Huntington

Was a waste of time and money! Couldn’t stay due to co2 levels getting too high. Arena was not letting people re-enter after walking out to get fresh air. To beat it all refunds aren’t being offered for an event nobody got to enjoy

    Great show, terrible seating.

by John on 9/8/22Canfield Fairgrounds - Canfield

The demolition derby was great itself, but seating in the grand stands was awful. I physical could not sit normally in those seats, I would have to sit sideways or put my legs over the back of the seat in front of me.

    Facility Needs Updates

    by Demo-Man on 9/6/22Canfield Fairgrounds - Canfield

The derby had good action and was well worth the money. There were 6 events and a final. Good show, however, the fair grandstands are rough old wooden uneven seats. The place looks like it has not been updated in 30 years or more. It was very hot and too many people were packed into the seats. Our seat row had different thickness boards so it was hard to sit there for long. Also they could of had fans to circulate air. It was probably 90 degrees under the grandstand roof.

    Awesome!!

by Erica on 9/5/22Canfield Fairgrounds - Canfield

The derby was amazing! So much fun. There was a car, #54, that made the entire derby. He ended up winning 3rd place, but he was the champion of the show!! I cant wait to go next year and i hope that guy enters again!

    Canfield derby

by Bugsy on 9/5/22Canfield Fairgrounds - Canfield

It was a different experience for the way it was executed. New platform from what im use to seeing. I was disappointed that there were no not more classes of cars or an suv class or vans and trucks. The late start and the constant talk from the announcer was a disappointment as well.

Too long of wait and show was too short

by Cmom on 8/24/22Hoosier Lottery Grandstand - Indianapolis

We waited an hour for show to start. Then they wasted time on kids playing around on hot wheels. There were only 3 heats of the actual derby and one heat only had 4 cars in it. It was very disappointing.

Ticket for this event did not include admission to the venue

by 10$ ticket turned into 60$!!! on 8/23/22Hoosier Lottery Grandstand - Indianapolis

Ticket for event did not include admission to the venue in which it was held (indiana state fairgrounds grandstands). No where on the description did it include those details, nor was the information in any follow up communication. I understood that parking was not included, but I did not want nor plan on paying for admission to the state fair grounds which made the cost of the experience overpriced and overvalued.

    Demo Derby was awesomesauce!!

by sweetbaker on 8/19/14Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - Springfield

The Il State Fair Demo Derby was by far the best I've seen. Loved the Power wheel derby for kids also.

I've been to the LA fair demo derby for at least the last four years and this was the best one yet.

The event was much shorter than expected. Advertised as 90 minutes the event ran only 60 minutes. The true action was less than 30. Only had two derbys - one with seven cars one with eight cars. Definitely needed a third Derby to make it reasonable for the price. A family of four attending for $120 is a lot for this "amateur" event.

The last 2 heats were great! A bunch of cars in each and lots of action. Lots of fun to watch and exciting. The first 2 heats were a waste of time, 4 and 5 cars respectively, and the cars just wasting time so that they could get to the final heat.
