About

Deitrick Haddon is one of the most creative, inspiring, and exciting names in contemporary gospel, never hesitating in his quest to bring the good word beyond the walls of the church and into the world at large. That drive has helped him create a distinctive sound he calls "gospel soul," mixing spiritual music with the secular sounds of pop, rock, soul and funk. It’s also what has inspired him to bring his message to the world, both through his popular reality show Preachers Of LA and in his live shows. A Deitrick Haddon concert really is the best showcase of his conviction, his charisma, and his overwhelming excitement about his message. The message is catching on; his new album, "R.E.D.," debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Gospel Charts and the album’s lead single, “Have Your Way,” hit No. 2 on iTunes.

It's only the latest success for this son of a Detroit bishop. Haddon grew up around the church, preaching his first sermon at the age of 11. As a member of the group Voices Of Unity, he established his distinctive gospel soul sound and released his first album, 1995's "Come Into This House." However, it was once Haddon started recording on his own that things really started taking off. His 2002 solo debut, "Lost & Found," hit No. 1 on the Billboard Top Gospel Charts, was nominated for a Grammy, and produced the hit “Sinner’s Prayer.” In 2007, he won two Gospel Music Workshop of America Excellence Awards for the album "Live The Life." In 2013, his latest single, “Have It Your Way” off the album "R.E.D.," was nominated for a Grammy for Best Gospel Song. Tickets are currently on sale for Haddon's Feburary 2014 cross-country tour.

The show was ok, but I came all the way to Portsmouth to see Deitrick Haddon. I was disappointed because he was last and I felt they rushed him because it was so late.I came all the way from Richmond, Virginia very disappointed!

We partied in the name of the Lord in an intimate setting. I was expecting many more people but glad that I was in the mix.

I have seen all of these Artists perform. John P Kee gives a foot stomping, hand clapping show. Kierra Sheard gives some soulful energetic and beautiful performances. LeAndrea gives you that rich soulful feel and Deitrick is Awesome & energetic. I can't wait to see the show.

TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED I drove 1 1/2 hours and waited 3 1/2 hours for Detrick to come on and he only sang two songs and left. No. He was suppose to be the main attraction, everybody stayed on stage longer than Him.

  • Deitrick was awesome - burst of energy

Deitrick was awesome and Sunday's Best 2013 winner was amazing as well. Show had a variety of gospel acts and talent for all ages. Hit all across the board. Deitrick didn't disappoint. Just wish we had more time so he could have performed more songs.

Thought that the program was good. I thought that there was a lack of organization, but the performance was excellent.

The entire concert was great but I did not appreciate the tardiness of the guest performer Deitrick Haddon. The concert was suppose to begin @ 7:00 P.M. and it did not start until 8:15. Deitrick Haddon did not enter on stage until around 9:45. My time is just as important as his time.
