    Great Family Event

by DoctorNo on 12/13/10Royce Hall - UCLA - Los Angeles

This event was as wholesome as it was entertaining. The pageantry and vocals transported the viewer to multiple realms. Please expand the number of shows and perhaps make a DVD to immortalize this spectacular presentation.

The Hot Chocolate Nutcracker was phenomenal

by Cavaliers on 12/13/10Royce Hall - UCLA - Los Angeles

There are not enough positive adjectives to describe our experience at the Hot Chocolate Nutcracker. It defied imagination. The children, the costumes, the adults, the singing, the comedy, the different cultures that were represented, the dreams, the DANCING, the MUSIC!!!!!! THE MAGIC OF IT ALL. Thank you Ms. Allen and all that were involved in producing this outstanding, cultural event. Our family will be talking about our experience for months to come............and we plan to attend next year with an even larger group.

Hot Chocolate was hot and delicious every drop.

by SRobertsz75 on 12/13/10Royce Hall - UCLA - Los Angeles

So relaxing the performers with the beautiful music. I wish my other family members could have attend, but due to a death in the family they could not attend. I am hopefull that maybe next year they can see this wonderful performace. I loved the angel scene, it was so gentle and gliding. The male dancers have such strong legs in the scene that required them to fully expand their legs and hold for several minutes. It was a soothing, peaceful, vibrant performance. I took Marquis, my exchange student from China. He loved the performace and will see it again next year. He loved it so much that he purchased a sweatshirt. All in all I am happy have seen Debbie Allen's version of "HOT Chocolate Nutcracker. "

by taysmom516 on 12/13/10Royce Hall - UCLA - Los Angeles

I absolutely loved it! It was a great way to kick off the Christmas season with my family. The way the different countries were showcased was brilliant. The performance helped me to see the value of the arts and why it's important to continue to provide our youth with opportunities such as DADA. My family & I will be back next year & we're even looking into other productions put on by DADA.

    Hot Chocolate Nutcracker was amazing!!

by DnceLuvr on 12/13/10Royce Hall - UCLA - Los Angeles

Debbie Allen's Hot Chocolate Nutcracker was an amazing display of dance and song! What a unique take on the traditional holiday story of the Nutcracker. The talent that was on display, from the young girl who portrayed "Cara" to the Pas de Du to Candy Cane Lane to the celebration on Bourbon Street, it was all fantastic! I am soooo glad that this wonderful production will be performed again next year. What at awesome way to keep the arts alive in our community and in the lives of our young people. Keep up the good work Debbie and DADA!!
