Death Angel on Tour
Prepare to be pummeled from all sides — in all the best possible ways — at a Death Angel show. Formed in the early 1980s, the iconic Bay Area thrash-metal band whips audiences into a frenzy thanks to speedy tempos, slashing riffs, and cathartic vocals. In fact, it's not out of the ordinary to see band members onstage headbanging in tandem with fans.
Death Angel tours include a spring 2019 headlining U.S. trek and a slot supporting Overkill's spring 2019 U.S. shows. The group has spent the better part of three decades gigging alongside heavy music royalty — from early shows opening for thrash titans Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Exodus, to more recent shows alongside Sepultura, Testament, and DevilDriver.
Death Angel Background
Death Angel emerged from the Bay Area's fertile music scene in 1982. Although the band's sound originally skewed toward straightforward metal — early inspirations included Iron Maiden and Tygers of Pan Tang — the troupe quickly embraced the burgeoning thrash-metal movement bubbling up around them. This led to 1985's Kirk Hammett–produced Kill As One demo and a contract with Enigma Records, which released Death Angel's landmark 1987 debut LP, The Ultra-Violence, a jaw-dropping display of speed, precision, and aggression.
Like their thrash-leaning peers, Death Angel soon diversified their sound and incorporated slower tempos, bluesier hard rock flourishes, and even stripped-down arrangements — culminating in 1988's "Bored," a favorite on MTV's Headbanger's Ball, and the major label-released 1990 LP Act III.
After taking much of the '90s off, Death Angel regrouped in 2001, more rejuvenated than ever. Lead guitarist and founding member Rob Cavestany and vocalist Mark Osegueda, who's been with the band since 1984, have steered the band into even heavier territory, courtesy of multiple collaborations with heavy music go-to producer Jason Suecof. Today, Death Angel command respect as elder statesmen of the metal scene, although resting on their laurels is not an option — or of interest.

I went to middle school with “Ozzy”. The cutest and nicest guy around. Well liked by everyone. I knew back then that he was gonna make it big. Forty years later, Death Angel still Rocks!!
These guys are fire!! They never disappoint!! This show was incredible and polished and full of energy!! Rob Cavestany’s playing style is above and beyond and the rest of the band is right there with him. They are going to give you the feeling you have been searching for! It’s a Don’t You Dare Miss it!!!! Always impressive! Buy the ticket, Enjoy the ride!
If you like thrash metal and haven’t seen or heard Death Angel. It’s time. These are pioneers in riffs that rip! They aren’t afraid of stage diving or mosh pits that get the building spinning. I feel the best introductory album is Act III. My favorite album to repeat.
As a true European Metalhead I had to go and see this when I was in Vegas , and I can say that Americans can rock equally to europeans , Loved the opening act TYR aswell , Hope to see both bands sometime again acroos the ocean
Death Angel at Peabody's. The show was fantastic. The venue was cool. I wish there were more fans there! Someone needs to do more promoting. There were seven bands there. Bonded by blood was awesome.
The local band cancelled last minute. No big deal. Bonded by Blood opened up and got the party started. LaZarus A.D. kept things rolling. Their new CD just happened to be released the day of the concert. Death Angel played until almost 11:30. They had a great mix of songs from 1982 to their current album. The show was amazing. High energy from start to finish. Death Angel does not get the credit that they deserve. I think the Big 4 should share the spotlight with other thrash metal pioneers such as Death Angel, Testament, OverKill, etc. I don't think Death Angel has ever released a questionable album and should be regarded as one of the best and most entertaining thrash metal bands out there. Great show guys! I can't wait for you to come back. I was a little disappointed with the crowd. Too few people there, but then again it was questionable weather and a Tuesday night. Thank you for a great show!
Death Angel put on a great performance drawing on songs from throughout their career. Despite the recent personnel changes, the band was incredibly tight. Unfortunately, the PA was turned up so ear-shatteringly loud that the vocals became distorted and at times indistinguishable from the guitars. I wore high quality ear plugs throughout the show, but despite that my right ear had a significant ringing the entire next day. That's not just crazy, it is bad for the audience. I've been to several hundred shows over the years, and that has never happened to me before.
