    DC Fest 2014

by Anonymous on 8/19/14Patriot Center - Fairfax

It was great, the only problem was with 7 different bands and so many songs, many people did not know the words to many songs but mumbled along anyway. If DC Fest would put/scroll the words on the big screens I would have given them 5 stars! I overheard someone else say they wish the words were on the big screen.

    DC Fest was very uplifting

by labmomnewark on 8/19/14Patriot Center - Fairfax

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the festival. Great music and performers. Found the whole experience very uplifting. It was a very long day though. I think that if we go back next year, we'll get there a little later and go for the more popular bands only. We're both in our 50's and the seats were quite uncomfortable to sit in for all that time...I especially liked The Afters, 10th Avenue North, Mandisa, and Third Day and would've just liked to have seen them. I liked that the Patriot Center supplied ear plugs too. That made it possible to just hear the music and block the background noise.

    Great Bands and Amazing Music!

    by Freeindeed527 on 8/19/14Patriot Center - Fairfax

We got there early, around 2:30. I originally went because of Third Day but the other bands were awesome. I would suggest not sitting in the sections on either side of the stage. The sound is way too loud and we thought we were going deaf! I would also encourage you to be prepared to spend a decent amount of money if you buy food there. The cheapest thing is a bottle of water for $4.

Awesome performances by The Afters, Tenth Avenue North, Mandisa, and Third Day. And some great new artists I had not really heard before. Wonderful variety of performers for one price.

    Good Music, But Poor Sound

by BleuSoleil on 8/19/14Patriot Center - Fairfax

Great event, but would have been better if the sound system hadn't drowned out the voices of the performers. It was difficult to understand a word they were saying. Event started at 3pm, and by the time Mandisa came out (around 6:00pm), I was ready to go, in between all the breaking down/swapping out of bands and sound checks in between each performer/band, not to mention the lengthy pleas of various non profit groups, who showed videos in between some of the acts, the event seemed to move along at a very slow pace. Mandisa was well worth the cost of the tickets, however. Fortunately, I knew the words to her songs, so rather than try and understand what she was singing, I was able to enjoy her performance very much. She had everyone on their feet with a lot of energy and was very engaging. Although I wanted to see Third Day, I couldn't last beyond Mandisa, due to the aforementioned issues ..... Now, I see why most people didn't even show up until 6:00pm!

My husband and I went and had a wonderful time. There were 7 to 8 different artists. We loved them all...different types of music kept our attention. Although a little long 6.5 hours, I wouldn't have changed the amount of artists....you could have just come a little later if you couldn't say for that long. Everyone had their God given gift that they shared wonderfully.

    Mandisa

by Riconovicci on 8/19/14Patriot Center - Fairfax

I was impressed with all of the artists and how they incorporated scripture in between performances. Myself and my wife called it a date night for us but it was more like a love connection between fellow believers in the Lord who worshipped the same father. Looking forward to DC Fest every year

    Great Family Event

by FoolishPuppy on 8/19/14Patriot Center - Fairfax

It was a great family friendly event. The only issue was it was too long without many breaks. There should be activities that families can do, as well. Games, vendors, etc.

    Looooong Day

    by Marybeth7 on 8/19/14Patriot Center - Fairfax

I was unable to find the line up anywhere, so I arrived just before 3:00 when it was scheduled to start. Ugh. I didn't know any group or songs until Colton Dixon, and even then only knew one song. (I listen to WPER all day every day so I was surprised at this.) Anyway, had I known the schedule, I would have arrived somewhere around 6:00 to see the groups I really wanted to see. (Mandisa on...)

    Great variety of Christian Music

    by MusicMom1719 on 8/31/13Patriot Center - Fairfax

DC Fest was a great venue for all ages including families. From Jamie Grace to David Crowder to the Newsboys, the variety of music was a great mix of Christian music. Christian music festivals are a wonderful example of the power of Christian music to excite and exhort Christian to get excited about God.

I had so much fun at DC Fest 2013. All the musicians and artists were fabulous. Great entertainment, great worship, great music, nothing to complain about. They saved the best for last - the Newsboys! I love them! So much fun; will do it again next year.

DC Fest is an important Christian event!!!

by Vimarie on 8/20/13Patriot Center - Fairfax

I am a fan of DC Fest, but this year was not very well organized, too much spare time between the bands, the people that was introducing the bands was not motivating.... The only bands that really were worth to watch : The After, Mathew West and Newsboys! The other years this event was much better! Hope that next year the quality improve so I could invite friends!

First time to DC Fest will not be my last!

    by Donna84 on 8/20/13Patriot Center - Fairfax

We attended the meet and greet prior to the event. All of the artists were happily talking to fans, asking questions, answering questions, signing autographs and smiling for photos. The music was outstanding. For an event that started at 2 PM with the meet and greet and ended after 10 PM, you expect to get tired or bored at one point in the night. I loved every minute from start to finish. The entire evening was electric and uplifting. I will be there in 2014.

Worth the 5 hour ride from NY

by Chaicg on 8/20/13Patriot Center - Fairfax

this event was awesome and i had a great time. I am glad i took the ride down to Virginia from NY. I initially had to ask to switch seats by guest services because it was tight where i was initially placed, i was relocated a bit too far even though i was comfortable. However it was a great show!
