    A really exciting event

by Sistafatti on 7/24/10Maverik Center - West Valley City

Haven't attended the Days of 47 Rodeo for over 15 years because I felt it was too orchestrated, ie; the same openilng ceremony with the riders on horses circling the arena with the American flag, Days of 47 Royalty circling the arena in a Cadillac convertible, same stupic jokes with the clowns and the rodeo announer etc. This years ceremony was spectacular with troops from the National Guard being lowered from high overhead to the arena floor while carrying the flag. All in all the opening ceremony was very patriotic. The rest of the Rodeo with the riding, roping etc; kept me on the edge of my seat.

I prefer smaller outdoor rodeos. But this one had good talent, top bull riders, ropers and wrestlers. The noise was extreme, I do not recommend this event for young children and infants. It was to loud for most of the people in our group.

Rodeo events were outstanding. I would reduce or elminate the fiesta entertainment. Mariocci band was ok.

Feista Theme at Days of 47 Rodeo

by k9richins on 7/23/10Maverik Center - West Valley City

We enjoyed the rodeo... However, the Fiesta Theme felt like Christmas around the World... We went to see a Rodeo not people dance, Also, their dancing went on forever! Not impressed with the themed dancing...

    Great time!

Wonderful Rodeo. Wish they had more riders for the Barrel Racing. Other than that, kids loved it!

    Rodeo Was Fantastic!

by tljj on 7/21/10Maverik Center - West Valley City

I have never been to the Days of '47 rodeo and was really quite surprised as to how well organized and fun it was. I thought the level of skill by the participants was amazing, one of the best rodeos I have ever been to! I thought overall the announcing and commentary between events was great. Over all there were no major gaps or awkward moments!

    Days of 47 Rodeo

by Anonymous on 7/21/10Maverik Center - West Valley City

Everything at the event itself was very nice. My only complaint was exiting the parking lot. It was a mess. There was no traffic control within the lot itself and poor signage for finding the exits. The only crowd control I saw was at the exit itself. Cars were going everywhere and some people arguing because of the lack of traffic control.

    Rodeo was exciting!!!

by lclilbro on 7/20/10Maverik Center - West Valley City

The rodeo was overall greatly exciting. Just when I thougth it was almost over, here comes another event. Don't even get me started on the rodeo clowns. They don't bring exciting, just a lot of laughter and dancing.

    Rodeo a flop

by Germangirl7 on 7/20/10Maverik Center - West Valley City

I was very disappointed in the Days of 47 Rodeo that our family attended on Monday July 19th. This is usually a very exciting event. The sound system in the Maverick Center was so poor that you could only understand every 7th word spoken. The announcers would chastise the audience for not cheering for their Utah cowboys, but with the poor quality of sound you could not understand when they announced the Utah boys. Usually at the end of the rodeo the clown does a" tease the bull" segment, which is something I always look forward to and a great end to the rodeo. In this rodeo when the last contestant had ridden the bull, the rodeo was over. The clowns routines may have been fun, but you could not understand them either. This was the first rodeo that my grand daughter had ever attended and she was disappointed in the event also. I probably will not attend again. The price of the tickets with the cost of the added fees was also expensive and really not affoardable for a family outing.
