About

Since first stepping into the pop spotlight at age 17, David Archuleta has embodied the kind of genuine star power that can't be manufactured. After years of dazzling audiences with his radiant personality and phenomenal voice--a journey that's included turning out multiple platinum-selling hits, achieving global acclaim as a captivating live performer, and emerging as an undeniable fixture on the pop-culture scene--the Miami-born singer/songwriter experienced a major personal transformation that radically altered his identity as an artist. As shown in his singles "Creme Brulee" and "Hell Together," Archuleta has dramatically expanded the landscape of his songwriting and devoted himself to making pop music with equal parts uncompromising emotion and exhilarating impact.

  • Great concert from David Archuleta

    by ase1337 on 12/3/09Grove of Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent singing and performance by David Archuleta! He continues to be an outstanding performer and his voice is one of the greatest ever heard. Only thing that could have made the performance better was to not have the drummer over power the voices of the singers. Too much bass and sometimes hard to hear over the drummer.

  • ARCHIE DOES GOOD

by garthfandr on 12/3/09Grove of Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

This was a great concert at a great venue. David was great and splitting the concert in two to focus on his regular music and then slipping into Christmas was a good idea. He had the tweeners screaming as well as a few cougars and a couple guys. I would have preferred no opening act and an earler start since it was a school night and we had two children in our group. Was surprised by the low selection of merchandise. It was my first time at The Grove and really enjoyed the venue. The parking was wonderful getting in and out. The food selection was a tad weak but tasted great. I am looking forward to attending another concert at the Grove. The only complaint is the ushers and staff trying to keep people from filming and taking photos. It breaks up the flow of concert when they keep coming in audience to tell people to stop. Give up. Its the future. I am more annoyed by people standing up during concert but accept it since you cant stop that either.I give the Grove and A and Archie and A. Great job.

  • Young Artist Shows Why He Was #2 on Idol

by JacksonBenicia on 12/3/09The Warfield - San FranciscoRating: 4 out of 5

David Archyleta is new to headlining small to medium venues and he certainly proved he can entertain and audience albiet mostly young teens, but he drew a variety of men and women as well. David sang with much emotion as he sang songs that had meaning for him. As he proved on American Idol, his arrangements of cover songs i.e. Stings Fields of Holly, and, of course, all the Christmas songs, these are the most enjoyable to hear. His repor with the audience was adequate, but I thought at least on mention of American Idol and thanking those in the audience for voting for him would have been a nice touch. Afterall without that show, David would not have been headling a Christmas from the Heart concert at the beautiful Warfield Theatre.

  • I loved it!

by Stargazing on 12/2/09The Warfield - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

David Archuleta is such a sweet nature person who can charm every generation. His concert was as sweet as his personality. Although, his singing is way beyond his age of 18, and he sings very strong and in mature way. The Christmas concert part was very inspirational and beautiful. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to feel the spirit of Christmas.

by cellohelen on 12/2/09Rabobank Arena Theater and Convention Center - BakersfieldRating: 5 out of 5

We drove 2 1/2 hours from LA to Bakersfield to attend this concert. It was worth every minute of the drive (and return trip)- we would do it again in a flash. It was a great show - the set, the music, the atmosphere! David has a wonderful voice and is fun to see on stage. The warm up band was good, too. We can't wait to attend his next concert. DO go if you have the chance. The energy was to positive!

  • David was the best ever

    by Maui5 on 12/2/09The Warfield - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Well, what can I say. It gets better everytime I hear David Archuleta sing. Very powerful songs and voice. We were so excited to see him play at this really beautiful old place ( the Warfield) in the city. That was the first time I've been there. Real good sounds. We had great seats. I liked the idea of having everyone seated more or less and that the audience wasn't out of control most of the time like some of his other concerts. A lot of adults there this time. Like us. The only bad thing was that we weren't allowed to take pictures or videos. But it was still worth every bit of it. We kept thinking, "wow, David at the WARFIELD!!! How cool was that!! I did get a picture of us in front of the marque. Can't wait to see him again.

This show was so fantastic. Each one of David's shows have been amazing. His voice is so beautiful and filled with such emotion, there is not another singer today that has the true talent that this young man has. Not only is he talented but he is such a fine human being and such a fantastic role model. An all round beautiful person. Thanks David for an unforgettable evening. You have never really heard David sing till you have seen him in person. WOW!!!!!!!!!

  • David was fabulous as usual!

by berkeleymom on 12/1/09The Warfield - San FranciscoRating: 4 out of 5

I enjoyed the setting of the Warfield - very intimate and I felt as though I was really close to the performance. Honestly I was a little worried during David's first song because the band was really loud and you couldn't really hear him. It also sounded like he was being careful with his voice, changing the arrangement to not hit high notes and such (which makes sense because it was apparent later, when he was speaking, that his voice was giving out). However, as the show went on, and most especially once he started singing Christmas songs, his fabulous voice filled the auditorium and he seemed to settle into the performance. He had a lot of energy and was responsive to the crowd (of mostly adults). I really enjoyed his duet with his mother (you can see from whom he inherited his great voice) and she seemed to enjoy herself as well. His rendition of Ave Maria gave me chills and moved me to tears, literally! He is such a master of his craft. He may seem young and "lightweight" to some, but if you are a person who enjoys a wonderful vocal performance, you can't go wrong with him.

  • David is truly amazing

    by musicfan89 on 12/1/09Westfield Theatre - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

I had the best time seeing David Archuleta here in the bay area. His music and voice truly warms the spirit in this chilly fall weather. I recommend him to all who enjoy his music to go see him on his Christmas tour. I hope he always stops by in San Francisco or really anywhere in Northern California.

  • David Archuleta is otherworldly!

    by momof2teens2 on 12/1/09The Warfield - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

He is so gifted and yet so humble and spiritual, he's truly an inspiring young man. Loved every note he sang, but particularly enjoyed Zero Gravity, The Riddle, Fields of Gold, Melodies of Christmas, The First Noel, Pat a Pan, Riu Riu Chiu and Oh Holy Night. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas was also lovely, but the best part was seeing him interact with ihs beautiful mother, who also has a lovely singing voice. All in all, an incredible concert, and definitely imbued us all with the holiday spirit!

  • David's Vocals Soar!

by ladydi58 on 12/1/09Rabobank Arena Theater and Convention Center - BakersfieldRating: 5 out of 5

My daughter & I attended David's concert Sat. night in Bakersfield. It was an amazing show! I enjoyed how David performed the first half of the show, appearing casually dressed to sing some of his pop hits from his debut cd as well as some nice surprises like "Fields of Gold" and "The Riddle". "Prayer of the Children" was a beautiful song he also performed that was very touching and heartfelt. His vocals were in top form and he sounded amazing! His voice filled every nook and cranny in the room and was so clear and pitch perfect! After a brief break, David appeared this time dressed more formally in a suit and tie. This was the Christmas music portion of the show and he started off with "Melodies of Christmas" a song he co-wrote. Overall every Christmas song David sang was incredibly beautiful and pitch perfect. Truly moving were his performances of "Ave Maria" and "O Holy Night". We were even treated to songs in French and Spanish as well as Latin (Ave Maria)! David is a consummate professional with a golden voice but also displays a boyish charm and killer smile! Very enjoyable show and one that will definitely get you in the Christmas spirit!

  • Excellent performance

by LucPrice on 12/1/09The Warfield - San FranciscoRating: 3 out of 5

I greatly enjoyed the performance and the song selection, and the musicianship of the band. However, the sound system in the Warfield was horrible and it was difficult to impossible to make out what was being sung by the performers. The drums and bass drowned out much of the music. When the keyboard and pianist was playing the violin, it was barely heard and that was a real shame as it appeared that she was doing a good job with this performance. It was obvious that the performers, including David were having difficulty as they continued to adjust their hearing devices during the performances. It was a pitty that the poor sound system in the Warfield and the imbalance of the musical instruments flawed such a good performance from the performers and musicians!
