About

Since first stepping into the pop spotlight at age 17, David Archuleta has embodied the kind of genuine star power that can't be manufactured. After years of dazzling audiences with his radiant personality and phenomenal voice--a journey that's included turning out multiple platinum-selling hits, achieving global acclaim as a captivating live performer, and emerging as an undeniable fixture on the pop-culture scene--the Miami-born singer/songwriter experienced a major personal transformation that radically altered his identity as an artist. As shown in his singles "Creme Brulee" and "Hell Together," Archuleta has dramatically expanded the landscape of his songwriting and devoted himself to making pop music with equal parts uncompromising emotion and exhilarating impact.

I enjoyed the Christmas part and he sang Ava Maria perfectly

He sounds so much better live; the CD does not quite capture the purity and power of his voice. A versatile and talented singer.

This concert was brilliant. Everything from the stage, to the song selections, to David himself. He sang perfectly in pitch and was adorable! Best concert ever!

His voice is so pure. Pitch perfect! What a showman! I loved everything about the show. I could not believe how he has progressed in 2 years! It is so refreshing to have the opportunity to see a talented young man, with so much charm and poise, perform with ease. It was very natural for him. My daughter and I were blown away!!!

  • Christmas From The Heart with David Archuleta

by GidgetwhoGidget on 12/16/09Lyric Opera House - BaltimoreRating: 5 out of 5

I tend to be criticized, off and on, for my musical tastes. I'm 28 years old and for some reason tend to be drawn to artists one would normally find on the cover of Teen Beat. But, I've always been of the opinion that a great singer is a great singer, no matter how annoying or young their following might be. This has definitely been the case with David Archuleta. I always knew he was an incredible talent, but after last night I consider him a powerhouse. Of course, he came to Baltimore with his usual band of obnoxious teenyboppers, many of whom called out birthday wishes and gooey declarations of love at inappropriate moments. Even so, last night's performance at The Lyric was beyond any doubt the concert highlight of my year! It was wonderful to hear Archie's catchy pop tunes like "Crush", "A Little Too Not Over You", and "Zero Gravity". But, the best part of the evening was when the show took a more mellow tone. The Christmas music started five songs in, with Archuleta's rendition of Sting's "Fields of Gold" - a performance that matched the dazzling beauty of white twinkle lights that shined behind him on the stage. This feeling of enchantment not only continued, but gained in strength as he sang a collection of holiday classics from his Christmas album such as "Silent Night", "The First Noel", "Pat-A-Pan" and "Riu Riu Chiu" many of which earned a well deserved standing ovation from the audience. I was in complete awe of him the entire night. With each performance, he seemed to get better, his incredible voice never showing any signs of exhaustion. This show was the perfect blend of holiday spirit and youthful energy and I would HIGHLY reccomend this concert to anyone with an open mind and an open heart!

  • David A. is a performer above all!

    by Elliemay456 on 12/16/09Lyric Opera House - BaltimoreRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing, more than worth the money! A performer not to be missed! His O Holy Night was only second to Dion Celine and it was close.I have seen many many performers and am a grandmother so I feel unbiased when reviewing this show. I went for talent and entertainment and he delivered! He sang in latin, french and spanish, wonderfully. This kid has it all! David was exceptional with an amazing voice. Much better than on American Idol. He went from one song right to another, can't imagine the stamina it took and his voice never wavered even after 1 hr and 20 minutes of songs. He was energized on stage. His opening performer was also top notch!. Enjoyed very very much and would pay to see him perform any time. Can't wait to by his new cd.

  • Christmas From the Heart Tour

by archuletiac on 12/16/09The Lyric - BaltimoreRating: 5 out of 5

This was such an amazing concert I don't think I can put it into words. David's voice has an amazing quality that brings such emotional connection, especially in his Christmas music. He can sing Ave Maria, O Holy Night and Silent Night with such reverance, and yet, pump up the crowd with Pat A Pan, Riu Riu Chiu and Melodies of Christmas. David is an artist beyond any other I've ever experienced. Seeing him live will leave you wanting more. You will be asking yourself, "Okay, when's the next tour?" haha! Amazing voice, amazing spirit, amazing artist. We are truly blessed to have him among us.

  • DAVID ARCHULETA TRULY AMAZING!!!! 12/15 Baltimore

by StephandDanielle on 12/16/09Lyric Opera House - BaltimoreRating: 5 out of 5

Seeing DAVID ARCHULETA perform in our hometown of Baltimore at the Lyric Opera House was an ABSOLUTELY, TRULY AMAZING experience and something my daughter & I & the rest of our family and friends who came to see David (some for the very first time) will never forget, not to mention sharing that with also lots of wonderful David fans from all over the country! David leaves you so incredibly moved and almost speechless, & it was so great that our loved ones seeing David perform for the very first time experienced for themselves how he touches your heart, they truly now understand why we love & support David the way we do and are devoted fans. For David's "Christmas from the Heart" tour, David not only sang his amazing songs that we love from his self-titled CD "David Archuleta", and his deluxe version on itunes & fan pack bundle: Waiting for Yesterday (one of our favorites), A Little Too Not Over You, My Hands, Zero Gravity, his soon to be double platinum hit single "CRUSH", but David also sang a beautiful rendition of Sting & Eva Cassidy's "Fields of Gold" and also covered "The Riddle", both such great songs, David loves meaningful songs with great messages! After a quick change, David returned to the stage in his formal attire showing reverence to his truly beautiful Christmas music from his amazing "Christmas from the Heart" cd, (you must buy it if you haven't already)! David began his Christmas set with his brand new fantastic song that he wrote "Melodies of Christmas"! He even sang in 4 languages, including French - Pat A Pan, Spanish - Riu, Riu Chiu", and Latin - Ave Maria! We have never heard Christmas songs performed so beautifully, including David's wonderful renditions of Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, First Noel and Silent Night (see favorite moments below). What a fun, great moment when David surprised everyone during Feliz Navidad as he ran down the steps into the audience! After Feliz Navidad, David left the stage and returned for an encore of his truly beautiful O Holy Night. Seeing David last night was such an uplifting yet emotional experience & truly inspiring to also hear David talk about his charities in helping children: Rising Star Outreach, Invisible Children, Make A Wish, Angels for A Cause (created by David's fans). If you've yet to see David in concert, be sure to go see him next year, he'll also have his 2nd pop cd coming out in 2010, treat yourself, it's an experience you will absolutely never forget!!

  • David didn't disappoint!!

by ConcertMomDee on 12/16/09Lyric Opera House - BaltimoreRating: 5 out of 5

David's show was awesome. His pitch and tone are amazing. So glad to have him touring at intimate venues like the Lyric rather than the big arenas.

  • This concert was AWESOME!!!!

by robemr on 12/16/09Lyric Opera House - BaltimoreRating: 5 out of 5

I have been to many concerts in the past and I was totally blown away with this concert. This young man's talents are amazing. I was completely shocked that his voice sounded as fresh at the last song as it did with the first. He appealed to everyone in the audience from the youngest child to the very elderly lady sitting behind me. He is so talented and I really would like to see him again and again and again. The musicians that he has partnered with were excellent and made the experience just wonderful. The mixture of Christmas songs was really nice - I like the added touch of performing songs in different languages.

  • David Archuleta: Heart and Voice of an Angel

by jayjaybird on 12/16/09Lyric Opera House - BaltimoreRating: 5 out of 5

I knew that seeing David perform would be a wonderful experience. What I didn't know was how captivating it would be for me and (I think) the entire audience. Hearing David's soaring voice transported us into his world and let us fly right along with him (and I DO believe he feels he is flying when he is performing). And listening to his youthful patter between songs showed how innocent he truly is, and how he gives (and sees) hope for the world. I already give charitable contributions to those in need, and I hope that his young (and older) audience was listening closely to what he said, and follow his example.

  • David rocks!

by kdubz on 12/16/09Lyric Opera House - BaltimoreRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was amazing! I loved hearing David's hits like Zero Gravity, Crush, and Waiting for Yesterday, the covers, and his Christmas selections rocked, too! He keeps getting better and better and is an amazing performer . . . don't miss seeing him live!
