Me a my friend enjoyed the david allen coe concert at the casino.. there were only 2 things that were kind of annoying. first the concert only lasted about an hour and 10 min, which was very short. the second he didnt even pause in between songs just kept on playing lol. but was a good concert in the end

Really liked the way the show started right on time and how he talked to the audience about his past career.

    David Allan Coe was SAD!

by coopcar2 on 7/20/09Sams Town Casino - Tunica

Because I am such a fan,I thought the event could be nothing but great! WRONG! He had to be helped on to the stage and to his seat. He did not sing a song like it was recorded. The crowd wanted to get into the performance but it was not possible. Then in the middle of the show he coughs up a big "something" and spits it into a towel only to do it again shortly thereafter AND blow his nose! All this was with the microphone on! Could not sing along with anything he did. Then, he also had on a crazy bad wig. At the end he had to be assisted off the stage again...he can barely get from one place to the other and without assistance couldn't even do that. I'm glad the tickets were so cheap I would have been really upset if I'd paid a lot for them. I won't ever attend another show that he does.

    DAC was amazing

by JJB2222 on 7/20/09Sams Town Casino - Tunica

To be a man of 70 years he put on one of the best concerts I have ever seen. He is truly a living legend and one of the great singer songwriter storyteller's of all time.

by wildonion on 7/19/09Sams Town Casino - Tunica

David Allen Coe concert was not a typical concert, he had to sit the entire thing BUT DID NOT in anyway take away from the performance he gave! I would highly recommend any DAC fan to check out, what could possibly be his last tour!!

    David Allen Coe disappointment

by bigbob30 on 7/19/09Sams Town Casino - Tunica

First off the video camera guy kept adjusting the view on the big screens which was very generic. The lady that sang with DAC was terrible. DAC kept coughing and spitting in a towel. Their was a big fist fight that interupted the show and everyone was shouting and standing watching the fight and there was not enough security and took about 15 minues to get the guy out of the concert hall and I and my wife were basically right next to the fight and were were concerened with our safety when chairs started flying at bystanders next to us. I think a lady was hurt during all of this and I hope they sue the hell out of the casino for not getting this guy out of the hall and under control. There were a few other bikers in front of us and they could hardly walk and the security came up to them a couple times and still, they were allowed to stay in the hall, even though I saw one raise his fist at security and one that was passed comletly out with his fee over the back of the chairs in front of him and the security never said anything. I guess the MC patch on their jackets scared the security guards and they did not want to deal with the gang. DAC complained about the air conditioning and then stated it was going to cause the show to be shorted by an hour and that is what happened. He just up and finished a song and walked off the stage. I felt cheated, scared and basically mad that this was all allowed to happen and no discounts were offered. No more concerts at Sam's Town for me!

Backup Bands were awesome, but not Coe

by txdancer on 7/17/09House of Blues Houston - Houston

Best part of David Allen Coe's concert were his two backup bands. First was Sean Refer and the Resin Valley Band; absolutely perfect texas two step music. Loved their lyrics and Sean's twang!! Great Yodel too. The next band, 1100 Springs out of Dallas has a great swing beat you also just want to spin around the floor with, and fantastic fiddler. Both had really great vocals. Bought both their CD's. DAC, though, couldn't come close to the quality of music. Big dissappointment, but his son does seem to play a mean guitar. His wife, a June Cash want to be, didn't make any improvements to the gig.

    David Allan Coe

by Surg on 7/17/09House of Blues Houston - Houston

The sound was great. Coe opened the show from behind the curtain which was different and the show was one of the best I've seen in a while. Coe played longer than I have seen him do in some recent shows and mixed in a bunch of song from the past. Even sitting down he is a commanding peresence. If you missed this one you misssed a good one.

I've now seen David Allan Coe 3 times, and every show was fantastic. He plays a wide range of music at his shows, and does a great job. Well worth seeing.

Coe Concert - He still has it

by Bumpandrun on 7/14/09Altar Bar - Pittsburgh

We saw DAC At the altar bar. The atmosphere was great and we enjoyed the Beagle Brothers warming up. That set the mood. Then the great David Allan Coe performed, he did all his classics, sounded great and just jammed his traditional hits one after the other all night long. Coe is starting to look alittle old and slower on stage but he definetely has not lost it in the voice and ability to deliver a stone cold country song. It was a great night and I would recommend anyone who likes his music to see one of these shows. We loved the close casual atmosphere offered by the Altar Bar. One of the best shows I have seen in a long tim.

    D.A.C. Good singer crappy environment

by phusion on 7/14/09Altar Bar - Pittsburgh

Well, wasn't what I expected. It was like one LOOOOOONG song, each song blended into the net. To boot, DAC evidently does not like air conditioning. So the place was bloody sweltering!! By the end, 1/4 of the people were out front hanging out 'cause it was simply too hot inside.

    Sucked

by TexMegx on 7/14/09Altar Bar - Pittsburgh

The show sucked. DAC was a couple of hours late. He had requested the AC was turned off by 9p.m. and not turned on until after he left the stage. A bunch of angry people swarmed around the place, unable to sit because he also requested the barstools be taken out. He came out eventually, huddled over a cane and sat down on a stool and talked through about 50 songs in an hour. I left early. I won't be wasting my money on a show of his ever again. The Altar Bar is an awesome venue though, and the staff worked their butts off that night to make sure their customers were having the best time they could have.

    Awesome show!

by HarleyMom on 7/13/09Cowboys Atlanta - Kennesaw

I didn't realize just how many songs he had written for other artists, which he played/sang many of. He is a timeless artist that has an amazing history and wonderful talent!

    DAC wasn't anything special

by Qandfriends on 7/11/09House of Blues Myrtle Beach - Myrtle Beach

I was hoping to hear more of the music he sang that made hime DAC.....not other songs made popular by other singers.
