About

DAVE STEWART IN CONCERT:

From his days as one-half of legendary synthpop outfit Eurythmics to his acclaimed country-tinged solo outings, Dave Stewart has proven himself to be a dynamic and continually evolving artist. In 2013 he released Lucky Numbers, a heady mix of rock, blues, and country that featured guest appearances from the likes of Martina McBride and Karen Elson. As usual, Stewart matched the workmanship of the album with a string of electrifying performances that have set big expectations among ticket buyers for his upcoming tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

British-born Dave Stewart got his start with folk-rock band Longdancer, landing a record deal while still in his teens with Elton John's Rocket Record Company. In 1976 he met Annie Lennox, recording with her for a short time as the Tourists before the duo eventually became the Eurythmics in 1980. Following a moderately successful 1981 debut LP, the pair launched to mainstream success in 1983 with their platinum-selling sophomore album Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This), which spawned several hit singles including its chart-topping title track. The duo would continue to release hits throughout the decade before parting ways in 1990. Since then, Stewart has had an impressive career as both a producer and a solo artist, releasing nine albums including 2013's Lucky Numbers, an acclaimed collection of country rock tunes that will feature prominently on his upcoming tour dates.

    Disappointing night

by FrankieLANYC on 8/25/14Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

This was a disappointing concert in many respects. The artists did not seem rehearsed and the headliners were not stellar with the exception of a couple of singers. While I am always happy to support new performers this seemed like more of nepotism than finding new talent. I expected more from the Hollywood Bowl.

    Awful

Didn't realize I was paying top dollar to watch Dave Stewart's teenage kids perform. Didn't think it was possible to ruin the Beatles but they managed it.

    Worst Bowl Show EVER!

by LGTM on 8/25/14Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

This was a sorry excuse for a Beatles tribute and I really wish I hadn't wasn't our time and money on this.

    Super disappointed; vocals sucked

    by Boneman101 on 8/25/14Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

David Stewart used this important anniversary to showcase his kids and our expense. The show was a huge disappointment! There should have been a host of important musicians coming and going throughout the evening or at least a great tribute band. I left early; disgusted
