Dave Koz and friends knocked it out of the house! JB was moving and sang his heart out. Shalea was a powerful and pleasant addition. Keiko tore up the keyboard and was very entertaining. We had not seen Mindi in person before but it will not be our last time. We can't wait for the CD to come out! Excellent show!
We enjoyed the whole concert. Were surprised at the length, but though long it was worth the late night.
This concert was SO amazing with all the performers, Dave Kos, Mindi Abair, Jonathan Butler, Keiko Matsui and Sheleah. They played individually but also together in various combinations throughout the show! They performed so well together. It was a great way to get into the Christmas spirit and it was especially uplifting with the finale song, "All we need is love". I flew from Albuquerque to San Diego for this show and I am so glad I did! I hope to make it an annual event. GREAT SHOW!
As usual, Dave and his guests put on a great show. Dave's Christmas show is one of our Dec traditions and we look forward to 2019's.
My best friend had flown into town on Saturday, and this was a awesome treat to share with her - one of my absolutely best jazz concerts! Although our seats were toward the back, we still had an unobstructed few of the stage - right at the railing so no one walking or standing in front of us. The dynamic additions for me was the introduction of Shelea (a Quincy Jones discovery) - that young lady has a voice on her (we may have lost Whitney & Aretha, but she ...... well, you had to have been there, or begin to follow her to see what I mean - heart-stirring, goosebump-soaring vocals!) . Then, of course, Keiko Matsui, a petite, dynamic virtuoso who brings such joy and awe; Jonathan Butler, a wonderful musician and singer who always brings us back to our spiritual roots - Jesus Christ, the reason for the season!; Mindi Abair, wonderful saxaphonist; and, of course, Dave Koz - such an awesome musician - love his generous spirit. Finally, the encore that include Valerie Simpson who was in the audience and Dave invited her to the stage for the final song! Our spirits were lifted -- and my friend was able, for that evening, to forget her sorrow in the death of her husband (last year at this time), and enjoy the healing power of music! Thank you Dave Koz and Friends!
The Dave Koz show was amazing! Loved the different interpretations of the Christmas songs. Everyone was so talented, well trained and exceptional musicians. I would definitely see a Dave Koz show in the future. He is quite the performer!
We have been to several Dave Koz Christmas' shows. We had so much fun listening and watching as Dave, Mindi, Johathan, Keiko and Shelia perform together. They were having so much fun, and they spread that joy with the audience. Their passion and talent filled the theater with fabulous holiday spirit. We kept smiling... and even the next morning we both said, "That was a terrific show!!! Thank you Dave Koz and Friends for such a fun and memorable holiday evening!
Confusion for seating delayed the concert from starting on time, the Red Rock Casio staff didn’t have the knowledge or plan to execute or to help people to their assigned seat. Apparently, the show was over-sold thus causing the staff to setup more chairs in the egress aisles (thus eliminating emergency egress routes). Dave Koz finally started the show 25 minutes late, and people attending the concert still were not seated. The reason I choose the seats i sat in so I wouldn’t have my view blocked by the person in front of me... well that didn’t work out, I enjoyed looking at the back of someone’s head throughout the show. I travel from Syracuse Utah to attend the show only to be disappointed how the seating was changed and executed. I will not attend another concert at the Red Rock Casio as their staff are not professional enough to successfully schedule or execute a concert.
The best show Dave Koz has put together for Xmas in a while!! Amazing! Jonathan Butler was at peak! Keiko, Mindi, and Shalea were so great! Sad it is only a Christmas show. A++++
Special Xmas jazz show. Perfect for the Christmas season. The music 🎶 was spectacular and the performance was excellent! Dave Koz always puts on a great show ! I go every year during the Xmas holiday. It’s a must !
The show itself was excellent however tickets were sold for rows that did not exist when ticket holders arrived. Three full rows had to be added and it was placed in the fire exit rows, a code violation. No member of management came to apologize for leaving customers standing in the hallway way for over an hour without seats. A couple affected had just flown in from Seattle specifically for the show and was left standing in the aisle. We came early to relax and get ready for a spectacular time with Dave Koz left us anxious and frustrated at this venues mishandling of seating. Dave Koz was fantastic. Venue gets -10 stars.
Dave puts together an excellent group of talented musicians and collectively put on a show close to 2hrs. Will definitely see every year!
Performers and music were great. The Red Rock Ballroom is a large venue and great for banquets, but not great for concerts. The seats were banquet chairs and not staggered to provide a better view for everyone and not having to bob and weave to be able to see the stage. My recommendation is to have this tour at the Smith Center.
The jam was great! Very soulful Christmas show with some really nice talent. Koz blew away everybody with his Mastering of the saxes. Great band and singers. Keiko was wonderful as always. Minus 1 Star because of: The only problem there, was that they hadn’t prepared the seating, and made a lot of people wait until 15 mins. adter the start time. The seating in the front was set back 2 rows worth, meaning everyone sat farther back. We could’ve had another round of drinks waiting for these people. Sad situation on the promoters back. Oh well, next time we will look further into it. The hotel is fine though. See ya at the next event! G
Not a good place for a concert. Seen Dave A LOT. In Vegas , North Las Vegas, California. This was the Furst time in a Ballroom. Flat seating. Not good. Acoustic’s POOR Site lines Very Very poor. Payed to watch a big screen.
All of the performers were at their best, a show to remember, really put you in the Christmas spirit , I’m glad I attended the show, something to remember.......
Dave Koz and friends were spectacular! We truly enjoyed the show and look forward to seeing it again next year. The talent was unbelievable.
We have gone to a few of his Christmas shows and he never fails to give it his all! A fantastic show and he was on stage for over 2 hours!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed the show. Each artist was able to truly showcase his or her talents. It put me in the Christmas spirit!
great venue! wonderful evening with Dave Koz as usual .. I have seen him over a dozen times and it's always great. Jonathan Butler and Keiko Matsui were wonderful additions to the show and Mindy was there for the more upbeat part of the audience. Much better venue than previous years! I will be there in 2019 for sure!!
