    Tribute to Genesis

by RoxyBrgn on 4/2/12BERGEN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - Englewood

I enjoyed the show but it wasn't the "Party" atmosphere I was expecting from a small venue and it wasn't sold out - I got tickets the night before the show. They played a lot of classic Genesis so you really need to be a fan of the group, or at least of live jam sessions, to appreciate the show.

    Daryl Sturemer was right on!!!!!!!!

by RoBoo on 4/2/12BERGEN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - Englewood

Being a follower of Genesis since the early days, I was skeptical on how one member of the band would pull off a show. Wow, was I surprised!!! Daryl did an amazing job of playing Genesis numbers in a new way along with introducing some of his own material, which sounded great. Guitar skill - suberb; Storytelling - interesting; Audience reception - good. I was amazed that the show was not sold out, if only Genesis fans knew their musicians!!!!! Would definitely go again to see him when he is in the area!!!!

    Daryl Stuermer was very enjoyable.

by Lefty87 on 4/2/12BERGEN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - Englewood

Seeing anyone play live at the Bergen Performing Arts Center is outstanding because of the intimate setting of a 1200 seat auditorium. I though Daryl Stuermer's performance was very good. I would have liked him to play, with vocals, a few ore of Genesis' older songs. I'm not a huge instrumental person, so I zoned out on some of the longer instrumental pieces. But being such a huge Genesis fan, I would definitely go and see him again.

    Expectations Exceeded

by HP123 on 4/2/12BERGEN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - Englewood

One certainly takes a chance when a former band member, especially one of the greatest bands ever to grace a stage, Genesis, decides to go take a show on the road. There are sound-alike bands, tribute bands, wanna-be's and all sorts of musicians vying for stage time. Daryl and his band deserve to be front and center as not just a group that can play Genesis and Phil Collins tunes, but his and the bands own music that blended seamlessly into a production of amazing quality. This, along with a true humbleness, made this one of the best concerts I've attended, and there have been many. Kudo's to Daryl and his group on what turned into a wonderful evening of both instrumentalists and a singer. If you have the opportunity, this is a show not to be missed.

    Amazing

by LilyAndy on 8/1/11Bears Den At Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Niagara Falls

The music rocked and because the venue is relatively small the intimate setting allowed for good interaction between Daryl, the band and the audience. The audience got fully involved in the music and it felt as if you were in someone's living room with a drink in hand, singing along and even playing "air guitar or drums" Definitely a must see and look forward to their return to our area.

Daryl Stuermer: An Underrated Guitar Hero!

by genesis48 on 7/31/11Bears Den At Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Niagara Falls

Daryl's performance at Seneca-Niagara Casino was awesome. For those who don't know, Daryl was the touring guitarist for Genesis tours from 1978-1992, as well as their reunion tour in 2007. Daryl was also the guitarist on Phil Collins solo albums and tours. Daryl and his band played more Genesis tunes than I expected, and he even through in "Something Happened On The Way To Heaven", the song he co-wrote with Phil Collins. If Daryl and his band are coming to your city soon, make plans to attend! His guitar picking is sensational, and his band mates are goodhearted and humorous.

    Blast from the past!!

by rochramfan on 7/31/11Bears Den At Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Niagara Falls

Wasn't sure what to expect but was very glad we drove the 90 minutes to see his act!! Daryl and his band put on a fantastic show!! LOTS of older Genesis material from Wind & Wuthering, Trick of the Tail and Seconds Out (medley). His own material was really nice too, with a jazzy feel to it. My fingers hurt just watching him crank out the tunes. His support on drums, bass, keyboards and vocals were all top notch too!!

Daryl and the band were awesome!

by sanfilippo on 7/31/11Bears Den At Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Niagara Falls

We knew he had a different singer, but it didn't matter. Saw them at same venue last year and they were great. They played mostly Genesis tunes that were different from the ones he played last year. If you're into Genesis they are a must see. Hope they return next year.
