Great tribute band, but needs better event timing
by Mainah59 on 8/22/18Aura - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5The band plays greatest hits and the musicians mimic and even resemble their originals. Have seen DDE twice, and both shows were the same, even the inside jokes such as Randy refusing to sing high notes and being replaced. The shows were thoroughly enjoyable, it's the timing I had a problem with. The ticket says 9 PM, which I thought was a bit late since classic rock shows typically start at 8. But then there was an (unnecessary and not previously disclosed) opening act that started a little after 9, and when she finished, an intermission. It was after 10 PM and the Eagles show had not started yet. Good grief, the audience is old, some in their 70's and even 80's. We're ready to go to sleep in a half hour for Pete's sake. While waiting, I bought an extra beer out of boredom, I wonder if this is the intention, to max liquor sales at a small venue with 3 huge bars. The venue has TSA security to prevent beverage bring-ins, even though it is smaller than other venues in Portland that don't put you through that. The show was great, even if you're not a dedicated Eagles fan.
