Less talk and more magic!
by Dani1986 on 12/7/15MTS Centre - WinnipegI had high hopes for Darcy Oake, being a fan for a long time. He did a lot of monologue between acts. I would have liked to have seen more magic and less talking, personally.

I brought my 14 year old son and he loved it. Lots of great tricks overall spectacular show
Darcy was very nice to look at. The magic isn't anything people couldn't have already seen from his YouTube videos. I would say that if you got a really good price on tickets, go to see him. He would also be better in an intimate venue and not in such a large arena. I think a lot of the mystery is lost when you go so big and have so much smoke and lightning effects going on around you. Also the big screens used for you to see him better were lagging and freezing at times and so that was distracting.
After seeing Darcy on YouTube and on UK's got talent I guess I was expecting something quite spectacular. Although he himself is quite charming, the actual magic was not so wonderful. The first illusion with the doves which is the same as the one on YouTube, is by far the best illusion in the show. Never the less it was a pleasant evening and I think the children in the audience probably enjoyed it the most.
