It was one of the best nights of my life. I enjoyed it all.
The four instrumentalists were very well skilled in their playing. They provided three "acts", each representing various points in Beethoven's life and musical career. For most of the show, I closed my eyes and let my ears transport me to melodic bliss. The show was well worth the price
ONE OF THE GREAT MUSICAL REPRESENTATIONS IS THE COLLECTED STRING QUARTETS OF BEETHOVEN - USUALLY GROUPED INTO EARLY, MIDDLE AND LATE, THEY REPRESENT THE COMPOSER AT HIS ABSOLUTE BEST. THE DANISH QUARTET PROVIDED A "GUIDED TOUR" THROUGH THE LIFE OF THE COMPOSER WITH EXCELLENT RENDITIONS OF ONE QUARTET FROM EACH PERIOD. THE FINAL WORK, OPUS 131, WAS, FOR ME, THE HIGHLIGHT OF THER EVENING. PLAYED WITHOUT A BREAK, IT WAS MOVING AND COMPELLING. MY ONLY REGRET IS THAT THE AUDIENCE WAS TOO SPARSE CONSIDERING THE QUALITY OF THE PERFORMANCE.
I had a wonderful time listening to this string quartet
Highly recommend to any chamber music lover. Bravo!
