Dan and the band played almost two hours with no break. The show was lively and fun with awesome music! We’ve seen him before and we will most definitely see him and his band again! Everyone should go if they get a chance! Well worth it!
High energy, and the music was absolutely top-notch. Really fun concert!
Sound was awesome and Dan’s band put a smile on everyone’s face
Very happy to see Dan in a live performance with great yound artist.
My wife and I have went to three concerts with Dan Tyminski, one AKUS, Southern Gothic at the Cavern, and the current tour at the Bijou last night. One thing you can bank on, if Dan is on the stage, the musicians will be unbeatable. I am always amazed at AKUS live performances, and how it sounds as good or better than the recordings. Dan is the same way, whether it is southern rock or bluegrass. The current DTB members are unbelievable! After hearing several of his new songs last night, I'm excited for the album to come out!
Saw him yesterday at the Bijou in Knoxville, great intimate venue of a few hundred people. No one can doubt the talent of him and his band, incredible bluegrass players, unfortunately, my wife and I found Tyminski by way of his Southern Gothic album, of which he did not play any songs. I feel he alienated a whole group of fans who do not enjoy bluegrass but loved his Southern Gothic album. Just one of two songs would have made our night (and three hour drive).
The Tyminski concert was one of the best musical experiences I have had to date. Set in the intimate Birchmere venue, the performance featured songs from Dan Tyminski's latest release, "Southern Gothic." Unlike the bluegrass style we usually hear from Tyminski, this was Southern rock at its finest, featuring his own compositions. The dark themes of the songs were perfectly reflected in Tyminski's soulful voice and in the haunting instrumental arrangements. While Tyminski did perform his best known song, "A Man of Constant Sorrow," there were no other bluegrass offerings. This may have been a disappointment for some; nevertheless, few could fail to be excited by Tyminski's dynamic and memorable performance.
My fiance and I went to see Tyminski as we are fans. We had purchased the CD and wanted to see him in person. We were amazed at the sound and how much they sounded just like the CD. The Birchmere was great also! Smaller venue was more comfortable and the sound system was great! The food was good also! We will be back! Thanks for an unforgettable evening!
I very much enjoyed the soggy Bottom Boys and would see them again if they came by !!
Extraordinarily talented group For those who loved the Nashville Bluegrass Band, it was wonderful to her Pat Enright again; and Stuart Duncan is arguably the best fiddler in bluegrass.
One of the most enjoyable concerts I have been to - and great to meet Dan afterwards. I would go back anytime and my 5 year old was dancing in the isles the whole way through. Looking forward to their next tour - not to be missed!
It was absolutely an unforgettable performance! John & Jay Starling were terrific and Seeing Dan Tyminski is always a great show. Ronnie Bowman was terrific as well. It was entertaining and a great evening all around!!! Would love to see them all again. The Birchmere is always the best place to see a show. Very up close and personal!!!
Very enjoyable show. I was surprised that not more people were there. Love John Starling and great to see him with his son. They both sounded good and seemed to enjoy each other. Wish they had done a longer set. Dan and Ronnie sounded great together and really had a good time. Hadn't seen Ronnie since LRB and he looked and sounded very good. We had a great time with two very intimate shows.
