Damien Escobar on Tour

World-renowned violinist, author and philanthropist Damien Escobar brings a lifetime of musical talent to the stage in 2022 on his Life Out Loud Tour. He's dazzled audiences worldwide, starting at age 8 as a student at The Julliard School, then as a street musician in New York's Grand Central Station and other locales, all the way to his performance at the inauguration of former President Barack Obama. And now, fans can snag tickets to see this two-time Emmy Award winner and violin virtuoso play his signature blend of jazz, R&B, hip-hop, and classical at venues across the United States.

Damien Escobar Live in Concert

Born in the Jamaica, Queens, neighborhood in New York City in 1986, Damien Escobar was destined for a life in music from a tender age. He began playing violin at the age of 8 and showed unparalleled talent as a young musician. By age 10, he began taking weekend classes at The Julliard School as the youngest student ever to be accepted. His brother, Tourie Escobar, was similarly gifted, and the two later studied together at the Bloomingdale School of Music in Manhattan. Around 2003, the two brothers started Nuttin' But Strings and excited audiences by blending classical violin with jazz, R&B and hip-hop. Damien and Tourie gained fame playing in New York hotspots like Grand Central Station and later won a talent night at the Apollo Theater in 2005. The brothers gained momentum as they landed a White House performance for George W. Bush, made it to No. 3 on America's Got Talent in 2008 and later performed at the inauguration of former President Barack Obama in 2009. By 2012, Damien had stopped performing with his brother and earned his real estate license. However, it wasn't long before music called to him again, and Damien finally made his solo debut in 2012. According to Damien, "It all needed to fall apart so I could be forced to grow while putting it back together the right way." And he did put it together the right way because Damien went on to release his first solo album, Sensual Melodies, in 2014, followed by Awaken in 2015, Boundless in 2017, and Songs from a Breakthrough in 2020.

I took my husband to the show as a birthday gift. I have followed Damien Escobar for a while now and absolutely love his take on songs. My husband and I love music, but he has never been exposed to this genre before. Damien was truly impressive! He transitioned from Vivaldi to Chaka Khan and Michael Jackson as easily as he was breathing and walking! The show was on a Thursday night, which was a little tough, but I'm glad we went. We will most definitely go again when he comes back to this area! As a native New Yorker, I am so proud he represented NY, himself, and his craft so that others can share the gift of his talent!

Absolutely wonderful. If he comes back I'll be back. Only complaint was a little too much low end in the balcony sound.

  • Damien Escobar - talented and personable

by Brown1786 on 9/11/16House of Blues Dallas - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

If you're reading this you probably already know DE is extremely talented. He put on a great show, along with his live band. He called out a 4 year old in the audience to come to the stage and spoke to her for a moment, very sweet. He played a variety of music, both R&B covers and some original pieces. And, yes, he proved his talents even further by playing a classical piece by Bach. There were a couple of occasions when he had the opportunity to speak to the audience (once when he had to stop and replace a string he popped on his violin..he goes all in on that poor little instrument). He's a is a pretty good storyteller, with an interesting life story to tell. The only con: the set was too short in my opinion. He didn't even come out for an encore number.

This was an amazing show. My first concert for Damien Escobar. This man definitely has a purpose and is fulfilling it. He communicates through his very versatile music. I have always loved the violin. I too played the violin early in my life. I cannot wait to attend another concert of his again. It was not your typical just sit and listen to music. He had a story. Even the crowd he had was very versatile. You can bring your whole family. My mom, dad and boyfriend all truly enjoyed it.

It was like a personal 90s concert in a different method of music. His drummer, guitarist, and pianist we're more than complementary to his performance. Even had a great singer to warm up for him. I loved the entire event and would see him again in concert.

This was the best performance I have seen in so long. OMG! He was so such fun and involved the audience. His music is so soothing but so invigorating at the same time. Don't understand how that can be? Attend one performance and you too will be hooked. The Halloran Centre at the Orpheum was just the right size, the seating was comfortable and you could see the stage from everywhere. Will definately attend again and would recommend a 1000%

  • Soul Stirring!

by Kreyolgirl on 5/23/16Center Stage Theater - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Hearing and seeing Damien Escobar live is an unforgettable, soul-stirring experience. Every second, every minute, every dollar spent, was worth it. This was my 15-year-old daughter's first concert, and the fact she's still talking about it days later is a testament to the musical genius that is Damien Escobar. He's impressing 15 year olds and their 45-year-old mothers.

  • Damien Escobar you have a fan for life!!!

  • Absolutely amazing and exhillirating experience

by BrownRob on 5/23/16Center Stage Theater - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I was exposed to Damien Escobar a few months ago. I was scrolling through my Facebook news feed and just happened to click on one of his videos. I thought he was amazing. So when I saw one of his tour cities was ATL, I decided it was worth the 4 hour drive from Florida to see this man play the violin. But when I tell you his show blew my mind, I mean anything you view on YouTube or his social media pages is amazing, but there is another dimension. I witnessed that dimension and it was an exhilarating experience. Whether or not you like the violin or instrumental music, it does not matter. His concert speaks to the heart and soul....a definite must see and experience concert...
