Damien Escobar on Tour

World-renowned violinist, author and philanthropist Damien Escobar brings a lifetime of musical talent to the stage in 2022 on his Life Out Loud Tour. He's dazzled audiences worldwide, starting at age 8 as a student at The Julliard School, then as a street musician in New York's Grand Central Station and other locales, all the way to his performance at the inauguration of former President Barack Obama. And now, fans can snag tickets to see this two-time Emmy Award winner and violin virtuoso play his signature blend of jazz, R&B, hip-hop, and classical at venues across the United States.

Damien Escobar Live in Concert

Born in the Jamaica, Queens, neighborhood in New York City in 1986, Damien Escobar was destined for a life in music from a tender age. He began playing violin at the age of 8 and showed unparalleled talent as a young musician. By age 10, he began taking weekend classes at The Julliard School as the youngest student ever to be accepted. His brother, Tourie Escobar, was similarly gifted, and the two later studied together at the Bloomingdale School of Music in Manhattan. Around 2003, the two brothers started Nuttin' But Strings and excited audiences by blending classical violin with jazz, R&B and hip-hop. Damien and Tourie gained fame playing in New York hotspots like Grand Central Station and later won a talent night at the Apollo Theater in 2005. The brothers gained momentum as they landed a White House performance for George W. Bush, made it to No. 3 on America's Got Talent in 2008 and later performed at the inauguration of former President Barack Obama in 2009. By 2012, Damien had stopped performing with his brother and earned his real estate license. However, it wasn't long before music called to him again, and Damien finally made his solo debut in 2012. According to Damien, "It all needed to fall apart so I could be forced to grow while putting it back together the right way." And he did put it together the right way because Damien went on to release his first solo album, Sensual Melodies, in 2014, followed by Awaken in 2015, Boundless in 2017, and Songs from a Breakthrough in 2020.

  • Worth the wait

I had been waiting patiently to go to this concert. It is the first time I go see him. This was my first visit to The Wiltern; such beautiful venue.. I was not expecting for other artists to perform, but it was such a pleasant surprise The ambiance was so friendly and better than I expected. We were able to interact with the artists and best of all Damien came down from the stage and interacted with the audience. I brought a friend along that had never heard of Damien Escobar before and she is now a fan. We loved, loved, loved it!

I stumbled across Damien on Facebook earlier this year. His rendition of Am I Wrong was amazing, his live performance was even better. I can't wait for him to return to Los Angeles, hopedully at the Hollywood Bowl.

Talk about a great show. Who'da ever thought I'd be going to see a violinist and not fall asleep...No not the guy, Damien had us partying up in the Wiltern. He performed a few if his original compositions as well as some Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and Prince. It was a great time by all in attendance. I traveled to LA to see the show I'm now considering seeing him again locally since he will be performing at the House Of Blues in San Diego.

Damien gives new meaning to all the genres of music mixed into one show. The cover tunes were outstanding and the original classical songs were even better! I'll keep sharing his gift as long as he keeps putting it out there! Love Him!

My son is a Prince fan , so he made his day when he did the tribute to Prince... We will diffently all be returning to another concert

His brilliant arrangements and musicality take you on a beautiful and soulful journey! He is easily engaged with his audience, even giving roses to all the ladies and coming off the stage to play a song in the audience. An approachable and confident artist! Love him!

Damien performance was AWESOME. I am sure the opening acts have to start somewhere and I commend them for even having the courage to be on stage but I feel they need to work on their performance more.

One of the best concerts I've been to in YEARS! If you haven't heard of him, look up his performances online. This man is AMAZING!

  • Love Love Loved Damien, BUT

by jerrytodd on 6/20/17The Wiltern - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

Love Love Loved Damien Escobar's performance. Off the charts. And would go again. Was not happy with the 3 backup bands. Acoustics seemed off and the singers were too self absorbed and trying too hard for my tastes, and I generally loving wailing women singers. But not these. Seated in Row R, but didn't know that Row S & T had higher seats and therefore better views.

I would have to say this was one of the most enjoyable nights ever! My baby sister plays the violin so I surprised her with tickets for the show, (sister date) and he did not let us down. It was exciting from the moment he walked on the stage, to the moment we walked out of he door! The opening acts were good as well. Definitely will be seeing him again next time he comes to LA!

  • Exceptionally talented artist

by Brownye on 6/14/17Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

Damien provided a variety of songs. the preliminary music covered r& b over a span of 30 years. It definitely set the tone for the event. One observance I would share and like for the musician to consider. There were some children in the audience (some of them musicians themselves) who came to see this talented musican. There were two scences which involved wine. The one with the romantic scene with the roses was a nice touch; but the one where he "turns it up." was not impressive (esp. for the younger audience)
