Damien Escobar on Tour
World-renowned violinist, author and philanthropist Damien Escobar brings a lifetime of musical talent to the stage in 2022 on his Life Out Loud Tour. He's dazzled audiences worldwide, starting at age 8 as a student at The Julliard School, then as a street musician in New York's Grand Central Station and other locales, all the way to his performance at the inauguration of former President Barack Obama. And now, fans can snag tickets to see this two-time Emmy Award winner and violin virtuoso play his signature blend of jazz, R&B, hip-hop, and classical at venues across the United States.
Damien Escobar Live in Concert
Born in the Jamaica, Queens, neighborhood in New York City in 1986, Damien Escobar was destined for a life in music from a tender age. He began playing violin at the age of 8 and showed unparalleled talent as a young musician. By age 10, he began taking weekend classes at The Julliard School as the youngest student ever to be accepted. His brother, Tourie Escobar, was similarly gifted, and the two later studied together at the Bloomingdale School of Music in Manhattan. Around 2003, the two brothers started Nuttin' But Strings and excited audiences by blending classical violin with jazz, R&B and hip-hop. Damien and Tourie gained fame playing in New York hotspots like Grand Central Station and later won a talent night at the Apollo Theater in 2005. The brothers gained momentum as they landed a White House performance for George W. Bush, made it to No. 3 on America's Got Talent in 2008 and later performed at the inauguration of former President Barack Obama in 2009. By 2012, Damien had stopped performing with his brother and earned his real estate license. However, it wasn't long before music called to him again, and Damien finally made his solo debut in 2012. According to Damien, "It all needed to fall apart so I could be forced to grow while putting it back together the right way." And he did put it together the right way because Damien went on to release his first solo album, Sensual Melodies, in 2014, followed by Awaken in 2015, Boundless in 2017, and Songs from a Breakthrough in 2020.

From the opening act Jubu Smith to Damien the music was great! Very enjoyable evening.
Damien Escobar has played at the Aretha in detroit 9 times. I’ve been to every one of his concerts; including those at other venues in the city. HE NEVER DISAPPOINTS! This show was excellent, as always.
Awesome experience, venue was very accommodating, show was excellent!!
He is awesome! He knows just what we want. He came into the audience and played. He took care of business and we loved it!
I saw Damien Escobar about a week and a half ago in Charlotte. He is so talented. All the instruments were just as good as his voice. My husband loved when he was on the violin. He just gained two new lifetime fans.
First off I don't think I've ever left a review for anything in my life. I felt the need to after seeing Damien Escobar on 4/19 at The Center Stage Theater. He was powerfully moving! I love jazz music especially the violin. I had never seen him in person prior to this show but I was blown away. Im positive the whole audience felt the same way. I hope I get the chance to see him again soon.
Incredible talent and stage presence. A true vituoso! Magical music!
His performance was outstanding, I loved it plan to see him again
The performance was awesome!! Engaging, entertaining and fantastic. He is so talented and his music is so wonderful. I’ve seen him before and I can’t wait to see him again.
From start to finish we were totally entertained. Most definitely will see him again in the future
I thought Damien was a great violin player. He has a great personality and I love the way he related to the audience. However, the music was so loud I couldn’t hear the individual musicians. I would’ve liked it maybe Damien by himself or a little tone down on the music. Even though he has a lot of fans, I would not go see him again.
Damien Escobar is phenomenal. The love and passion of his craft pours out into his music. It was a great time had. Message received Damien. #bethelight
One of the best concerts i have been to. I loved the show! Damien engages the crowd and connects on a very personal level. The music simply amazing!
As a first time Center Stage Venue experience goer, it was a great experience with great seating layout and for the most part your all seats will get you a full view close up experience. Some seats are slightly obscured but still good views. The concert itself was great with the exception of the shows 45min delay show start with no explanation as to why. Damien Escobar is bar none talented and an excellent exceptional talent violinist. I would for want to see Damien again in concert. Overall loved my experience.
Wonderful performance by Damian! The venue was perfect size. Seems that all seats had great view. Waiting for doors to open was a bit inconvenient because the line stretched around the corner and down the block. There was a different show (at same time in the other theater) also in line on sidewalk. Weather was nice otherwise it would have been very bad.
Attended this show for my birthday celebration and it was was amazing . It far surpassed my expectations. Damien is very talented. I loved his originals and the old school songs were so good. We were dancing in our seats. I would definitely go see him again.
Phenomenal show! His performance and venue acoustics were amazing! Only complaint is that the Centerstage staff didn’t let guests into the building at 7pm as advertised - it was 7:40pm when they let us in, and we were standing on the sidewalk in the heat the entire wait. Also, the concert was scheduled to start at 8pm, but didn’t start until 8:45pm.
Absolutely one of the best performances by Damien thus far! He has great showmanship and I forward to seeing at Seebreeze.
Damien put on a show! He was inviting from the beginning and had the crowd rocking in their seats. The energy was incredible and his transparency about growing up in Jamaica Queens loving the violin was inspiring. This was my first time seeing him in concert and it won’t be my last.
