by Gracefulsole on 2/24/16Ames Center - Burnsville

The Dakota Symphony always puts on a great show. Hard to believe these musicians are a volunteer group. When Roberto Plano plays with them the show is spectacular. He is an amazing pianist.

Dakota Valley Symphony: Feeling Baroque Music

by EMAF on 3/19/14Ames Center (formerly Burnsville Performing Arts Center) - Burnsville

The performance evoked the feeling we were experiencing the soft sounds of the strings and harpsichord in a 1600's music house. So beautiful. The two women who played the violin and flute for the Pacelbel piece were astounding. A real treat was a short lecture by James Skip Layton on the role of baroque instruments during that period. At the end, Mr Layton stayed and showed guests how the Harpsichord is made. Altogether a lovely evening.

This event was a beautiful experience!!

by BBJK on 2/12/14Burnsville Performing Arts Center - Burnsville

This Festival was a beautiful experience! I truly enjoyed it, as did my companion. The symphony with the concertmaster was exceptional. The 200 voice choir was beautiful. Thank you to the Director, Dakota Valley Symphony and Chorus, Lakeville North and South High School Corales and all who participated to make this event very enjoyable. The hard work and effort put into this Festival was evident in the performance.

This was the first time I had done a 'sing along' of the Messiah and I thoroughly enjoyed it and plan to do it again next year!

    It made this Christmas unforgettable

by Grandma3Kitty on 12/11/13Burnsville Performing Arts Center - Burnsville

It cannot get any better than this. We were so amazed and pleased with the excellence of the orchestra and the choir, that we could not hold back our tears. They received a much deserved standing ovation. I went home and bought tickets to their next concert we are able to attend. We are so fortunate to have this symphony orchestra in our community. You will not be disappointed! They are warm, lovely people with overflowing talent. Try a concert, and you will be hooked. Love them!!

    Dakota Valley Symphony rocks!

by spark1 on 10/16/13Burnsville Performing Arts Center - Burnsville

The Afternoon at Pops was terrific. This was my first DVS concert and I will definitely attend more of their concerts. The addition of Ignacio Herrera was a special treat - his performance of Rhapsody in Blue was memorable. The BPAC is a fantastic venue - not a bad seat in the house. We sat in the 2nd row which was like sitting IN the orchestra - a great experience for this musician.

    Dakota Valley Symphony: True Rhapsody

by MarcoPolo55 on 10/16/13Burnsville Performing Arts Center - Burnsville

My first visit to see the DVS was amazing. The orchestra itself is outstanding, and by adding Cuban piano virtuoso Nachito Herrera to solo truly created something special. We are truly blessed to have such a professional, dedicated and passionate orchestra in our backyard. They give us inspired music at a very affordable price....a true "People's Orchestra"

Salute to John Williams was out of this Galaxy

by Pronto62 on 10/16/12Burnsville Performing Arts Center - Burnsville

Wonderful music and very well performed. Great mixture of classical and Pops. One day John Williams, will rank among the greats; Mozart, Vivaldi, Bethoven, etc. The venue was very comfortable and had great acoustics. Enjoyed the conductor giving a brief history of the music we were about to listen. Brought my six year old and he enjoyed it almost as much as I did. Good job DVS.
