    WOW, Lau Lau!!!

by Flippah on 4/2/12Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

Having Hawaii's talented comics on one stage for a grand night of laughs was Amazing! All 10 in our party had a Fantastic Time; each with their own favorite. It showed good heart to not over charge for the tickets, allowing many to enjoy the laughter. Only person missing on stage: Rap. A Touch of Gold was okay. A more polished group would have earned the 5th star. Hawaiian Soul with their own instruments and dynamic singers would have rought it on. Willy K. would have smoked!!! ALL 10 of us left with smiles after a real good time! Mahalo for thinking of this! More!!!

It was the best show ever to see in a long time with local performers all in one place. Haven't laughed so much in this one seating. Touch of Gold was awesome!!!

    Expected More

by Kalele on 4/2/12Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

The Touch of Gold was excellent start, the comedy material seemed to be very repeating of what we've seen. However, some of the off the cuff stuff was great and relateable. Auggie is always fresh and real, love him sooo much, my son named his 4H market hog after him!! a picture screen or jumbo tron should've been put up along the side's of the stage or 1 large one directly above to see their expressions on their faces. I think thats where you really feel their characters.

Great to see these comedians that you don't see anywhere. More live comedy in town would be great!

    Sad, no Rap

by johnnyswave on 1/22/12Neil Blaisdell - Kapahulu

I love these guys!!!!! Too bad Rap Reiplinger couldn't beat his demons. Because he should've been here for this show. Even Ed would agree. He was my favorite local comedian ever. In my huna-budda days I would play the "Poi Dog" LP over & over. Those of you who know what an LP is really know what I'm talking about. James Grant Benson was no slouch either. My mom used to tell me stories about going to see Booga Booga & how those 3 together were real magic - "no comedians, not even on a national level, could touch that trio". So go give 'um Ed on that night. Your 2 brothers are laughing along w/pride for you while looking down watching from that great comedy club in the sky. Andy Bumatai's "High School Daze" & "All In The 'Ohana" also bring back great memories of a time of classic Hawaiian local comedy. Andy took the torch from Rap, keeping the people of Hawaii cracking up for decades, now. I saw him at the Sheraton a few years back , and he's still got it. His routine was still hilarious w/a witty style that can't be topped by any of the younger local boys - he's got impeccable timing. Andy & Rap are the best Hawaii's ever had to offer & we're blessed to have them remind us that life is not to be taken so seriously & we should learn to appreciate the sunny side of life more often like Andy still does & Rap should have done more often. Long live Rap, & Andy. Also, Andy never stop what you're doing you keep the state of Hawaii giggling and smiling - but we do miss your nightly talk show - especially your opening monologues, minus your guitarists loud annoying chuckle of a laugh, nah jus' joking. "Ho you Andy Bumatai? Wow, I seen you on da radio!!!!" - remember that one?!!
