    A waste of my time!

by red2me on 11/10/13Baton Rouge River Center Theater - Baton Rouge

There is nothing good I can say about this musical. It was an attempt at being funny. The singing was more like screaming to me. I had a good seat in the center of my row. I did not want to be rude by climbing over so many people, therefore I just sat through the whole performance and suffered. That is exactly how I felt. I was hoping for intermission, which never came. I feel that by using the title "Fifty Shades of Gray" the show was a financial and emotional rip-off. The attempt at being sexual was very weak and not funny at all. I hate being so negative, but that performance left me no choice.

    The Cuff

by RedRoomChick on 11/10/13Baton Rouge River Center Theater - Baton Rouge

I really enjoyed it. My husband got me and him tickets and we sat on the front row. We laughed the entire time. The actors were great. For me who has read the books a few times this play really made me enjoy the jokes. Still love the books.

    It was just ok.....

by BooksoverPlay on 11/10/13Baton Rouge River Center Theater - Baton Rouge

It was entertaining, though Ana's naivety was portrayed as stupidity and the question of Christian's sexuality took on a life of it's own. Kate was great and by far my favorite! If I had gotten the tickets for half the price, I think I would feel as I had gotten my money's worth.

Was a little disappointed. Thought it would be funnier. Voices were not as good as I had hoped.

To Cuff or not to Cuff

by cajuncowgurl on 11/10/13Baton Rouge River Center Theater - Baton Rouge

To enjoy this event, you must have read the books and truly understand the concept of a musical parody. The books deal with BDSM and this parody definitely pokes fun in sometimes a raunchy way. Some parts were hysterical and other parts made you think "why did they go there". I wasn't aware that the whole production would be casted by 4 people who played a multitude of roles. Also, the sound quality was bad and I spoke to people with floor seats who said the same. I bought my tickets early ($42) and yet, a 'discount company' practically gave them away (better seats too, I must say). I definitely wouldn't spend that amount again. But for $10, I would consider it.

Fifty shades of grey musical parody

by duffer4 on 11/10/13Baton Rouge River Center Theater - Baton Rouge

Sound system was TERRIBLE! The play and actors weren't much better. People were leaving in droves!! Over 1/3 of the balcony was gone less than 1 hour into the show! They voted with their feet.

    50 Shades of Disappointed

by culturedmommy on 11/10/13Baton Rouge River Center Theater - Baton Rouge

Sound was horrible. Couldn't hear 70% of the dialogue. I'm sure it had its moments....not that I could hear them. I've seen better organized high school plays.

    Hilarious acting and writing!

by Ticketuser on 5/28/13The Norva - Norfolk

I can't overemphasize how well written everything was. Of course, I enjoyed the books, but the parody was spot-on with the success of the books being more about the shock value of the S&M relationship since let's be honest, the books were not very well written. I love how they joked on the books with Ana being whiney, saying "Oh my" numerous times, no one really caring about the subplots (Kate and Elliot), and just how over-the-top the whole trilogy was. I loved the actress who played Kate and one of the inner goddesses. She was so awesome and so funny. I also liked the gay guy that wasn't in the books, but a character written into the parody who had a crush on Christian Grey. The music selections were perfect. My only criticism is that the volume of the music was so loud, there were several instances when I couldn't hear what the actors were saying. Finally, the only thing that could have made it funnier is if pregnant Ana pulled out a fake baby from underneath her belly at the end of the play. :)

    50 shades funny

by ShevRenee on 5/28/13The Norva - Norfolk

I wish the show was longer but it was hilarious! The cast was very talented and the music was catchy. The jokes were good! Just again, wish it was three hours and not just one!

    Cuff-Me, must see

by VABeachNik on 5/27/13The Norva - Norfolk

This was hilarious. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when they were writing this. The actors did a great job of spoofing on "Mommy Porn".
