Real Estate came on and immediately drew you in. They sounded great. Music that I'll be listening to for years..my 14 year old even likes their music..and I can see him at one of their shows in the near future. Fun night, good crowd. Would definetly see them again when they are in town.
Dan Deacon is a master of reaching out to the audience and turning up the energy level to "dance your face off." So few live shows can be silly, emotional, joyful, and high-energy. Dan accomplishes this all with a good humor. He is so relaxed on stage and having such a good time, the whole room gets caught up. Don't miss a chance to see him - you've likely never seen such whimsy and live performer chops in the same act before. Dan's opening activity brings the audience into his world, loosens them up, then first song built energy and pushed everyone into a dance frenzy. Never been hit by an opening song that way.
This event was free - so how could I not enjoy it!? Ra Ra Riot put an a great performance. I love that many of the band members switched instruments throughout the set. I had never heard of the Color Channel before the show but am a new fan after seeing their energetic, groovy performance. Great show, not too crowded, love the venue and it was free!
Converse takes over the Sinclair and invites three bands that are working their way up. The bands get to play for a full house, the audience gets exposed to new music, Converse gets good press. Ra Ra Riot were mixed gender (kind of unexpected) but fun, catchy, with the novelty of a full-time violinist and cellist. But it worked. Also the singer showcased quite a range. Their cover of U2's 'Two Hearts' was a great surpirse (especially in Boston where U2 cut their teeth in the U.S.)
Great music lots of fun well organized not too late
Motion City Soundtrack played an amazing set. They played all their popular songs like Hold Me Down, The Future Freaks Me Out, and Everything Is Alright. They also played a rarer one called Throwdown, which they played by audience request. They rocked hard the whole time and put on an amazing show!
This show was a classic pop-punk-esque performance. Sadly, everyone knew the songs so well that you couldn't really hear the vocals, but the sound was awesome and dancing was unavoidable. However, if you're a 200 lb. man, please stop trying to crowd surf. No one wants that. Thank you.
Ma Jolie & Motion City Soundtrack were amazing. I've seen MSC a few times & I believe this was my favorite live show of this band. Great song list, great crowd vibe & awesome pit. Worth it for a free show. I was able to high-five the band before the show started. (They were walking back into the venue) I got a nice size group of friends to tag along. It was amazing. First time at this venue, worth the travel, I will definitely be returning for more shows.
Incredible venue, super cheap drinks! obviously motion city soundtrack was amazing - so much energy!
I was there man......everything covered in sweat. ...and god knows what else. I.....saw......things man...maybe we're not gonna be the same. My ears.....what was that? WHAT!?!!!
