Connecticut Sun History
The Connecticut Sun are an American professional basketball team in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Launched as the Orlando Miracle in 1999, the franchise was purchased in 2003 by the Mohegan Tribe, who became the first Native American tribe to own a professional sports team, and moved to their current home in Uncasville, Connecticut. The Sun have advanced to four WNBA Finals, in 2004, 2005, 2019 and 2022, and topped the Eastern Conference five times. Sun players have earned five All–WNBA First Team selections and two MVP awards, for Tina Charles in 2012 and Jonquel Jones in 2021. Since joining the Sun as a rookie in 2014, five-time All-Star Alyssa Thomas led the WNBA in steals in 2020 and continues to hold the league record for career triple-doubles. In 2023, the Connecticut Sun advanced to the postseason semifinals behind Thomas’ rebounding Peak Performer-winning play in the regular season.

I really enjoy watching the Connecticut Sun play! It is really great to cheer on a team from your state.
Seat was great and printing out my ticket made it very easy. Enjoyed the game very much.
Great venue, great game. The arena at Mohegan Sun is modern, comfortable, and clean. Security is excellent. The game itself was a Suns blowout of the Mystics, which was fine with me. Once the game is over I hung out in the casino for a while and was lucky enough to win back all my expenses for the day plus a little extra. All in all, it was a great time.
What a great day at the Sun Arena. We got some great seats in section 107 with a great view of the court and were fortunate to see the Sun trounce the Mystics. We were afraid it might be cold but the temperature inside was very comfortable. Four of us went together and we can't wait to go again.
The seats were 2nd row from the court. You could see the sweat glistening off the players. It was AWESOME!
The venue was great, clean with ample facilities and friendly staff. Everything was clearly marked and the seats were comfortable.
First of all, we are deaf and there was no accessible open or closed captioning for the deaf and hard of hearing fans. There were lots of talking as we were aware of that but NO CAPTIONING for us and others who could benefit from it to enjoy the show and/or game. The game was not so exciting as we thought..
Seating comfortable, lots of available restrooms, staff very pleasant. The game was fun, plenty of activity. Nice to see former UCONN stars. Crowds moved in & out of arena easily. Very enjoyable evening.
Awesome seats, good game, amazing night for my daughter
It was a really great game. The Monarchs were in control early and remained that way for the first half. A different team came out of the Sun locker room, and Connecticut begun to take charge. Asjha Jones was awesome for the Sun and Nicole Powell provided the spark for the Monarchs, Everyone should get out and support the WNBA.
We love going to the Connecticut Sun games. Supporting our local teams and keeping them here in CT is important. The girls play with their hearts and I'll have to say I was never a basketball fan until UCONN women's basketball entered my life in the 1990s. Now I will sit and watch an entire game of women's basketball...either in person, on tv or online.
Enjoyed the game. Obtaining the tickets, parking and the event all went smoothly. Will definitely attend more games.
This is the second time I attended a LA Sparks game at Mohegun Sun. The first time all the starters were suspended and this time Lisa Leslie was not there.
As our first family trip to the Mohegan Sun Casino, it was a great experience we all enjoyed and hope to have more trips in the future. The seating was terrific, even in the upper level area you didn't seem to be far from the court.
The basketball game was close, fast and plenty of cool moves. Unfortunately, the half time entertainment was awful. I've certainly seen better during other games.
Bought tickets for my sister as a birthday present. We've been before, courtesy of Mohegan, and enjoyed it, so I thought it would be nice to take her again. It was a blast - and the Sun won! Everything was great, and 2.00 hot dogs? We will be back!
WNBA games always create alot of excitement. The games are always fun and action packed. The fans are very nice.
I really enjoy watching woman's sports and I think the WNBA has some of the greatest female athletes. I enjoy the entertainment and atmosphere. The size of the arena is perfect as I could really get to see all the players and hear them talk to each other. I wish I lived closer (I drive 2 and 1/5 hours to see the Sun play), as I would go to more games. Long live the Sun and the WNBA.
The Sun-Sparks game was women's basketball at its finest and the Mohegan Sun facility and staff is unmatched. It is hard to describe what an enjoyable evening it is when you can combine a game, gaming, shopping, high end restauants, and overall atmosphere and park your car once. I will attend a Sun game any time I am in the area on game night. I also saw a list of upcoming concerts and I will go out of my way to see a concert at Mohegan Sun.
We know the team is much better than what we saw that evening. It was The Mystics versus two Suns. There was very little ball movement, poor shot selection, and there was zero team chemistry. In short, they looked confused. Since then, things have come together. The parking was the only nightmare. Dinner was excellent as usual. A good night out all in all.
