Great event! Services could have been more available and open to serve the crowds.

    It was fun

    by Lirpa63 on 1/31/12BC Place - Vancouver

Been a fan of women's soccer since 1990 & have been to many matches of the US team. This was my 1st time seeing them play out of country though. The match was fun & it was interesting to see how much both teams had progressed since the days of Mia Hamm & Julie Foudy. This was the 1st time I'd ever been to ANY sporting event where I wasn't for the home team or country. So to see the US play Canada IN CANADA was a new experience. I never felt unsafe voicing my enthusiasm when the US scored...& scored...& scored...& scored....not like @ Oakland Raiders stadium.... c'mon Canadians are the most polite folks on the planet. But I did notice being outnumbered. It was good for me to see that other countries love their teams just as much as we love ours. The venue was easy to get to, the seats were reasonably comfortable & parking was a breeze. Concessions were pretty much what you expect at a stadium. All in all it was a great evening.

I had a fabulous time. I bought 3 tickets and brought my husband and dad to most of the games. My dad had a blast and I think he will be a fan of women's soccer from now on. As far as BC Place goes: parking was a bit steep ($15) and the food wasn't great.

    USA Women's Soccer is incredible!

by Phrestyle on 1/31/12BC Place - Vancouver

I really enjoyed myself! I witnessed history by seeing the Women's team beat the Dominican Republic 14-0 for my first ever soccer match. To top it off I was able to witness those same women beat Canada to win the Gold in the qualifying tournament. Hope Solo was amazing in goal! She made key stops that quieted the crowd so, the sound of my claps resembled a thundering herd. Interesting start for me to start... I was wearing my USA jacket. When I got to my seats, there were people sitting there. They were looking at me like they weren't gonna get up. My wife was coming a little later so I was there by myself. I politely told them that I would be taking my seats when my wife arrives then sat down in empty seats close by. When I started cheering for my team USA, my yeo voice caused entire sections to move away. They tried to drown me out but it didn't work. I drowned them out with my cheer. I cheer friendly but I was being jeered. I encouraged them to cheer for their team and out cheered them. It was very upsetting to them because I was more effective than they thought I would be. Then USA scored! Alex Morgan hustled against those same jeers and galloped by her opponent resulting in a goal! She then sliced through the Canada defense like the horse of Zorro and made an awesome pass to phenom Abbey Wambach that could be a Head and Shoulders commercial. The 2 goals and two assist from Alex Morgan had me going but Hope Solo has me speechless. She stopped great attacks with crowds of Canada players in front of the net and on multiple breakaways that had the rowdy Canadians gasping in disbelief. My cheers were drowning them. Anyway, I had a great time! USA 4 Canada 0.

    US Women kicked butt

Went to BC Place to watch whoever made the finals. Figured it would be US and Canada and it was. Great to finally see the US women live!

    US team is so awesome!

    by eagle390 on 1/31/12BC Place - Vancouver

BC Place was amazing and such a nice stadium. The seats were pretty comfortable too. Only complaint was that the Canadian fans were very very rude. The game was awesome and it seemed like every seat in the stadium was good seating for this kind of event. Would definitely go to an event like this again.

Was able to get tickets for the Concacaf final match between USA and Canada while on a visit to Canada for the weekend. Needless to say we were thrilled to be able to see the USA women in action and come away with a 4-0 victory.

It was amazing to have the opportunity to watch this level of play ! All four teams put in unbelievable effort making for some exciting matches ! So happy that we were able to be there and be so close to the action - Our girls came home ready to play and show off their new moves. The only disappointment to our evening was a Canadian cheering group of about 50 people....During the US / Costa Rica game, they booed the US team and made some really poor remarks. They also sang songs with negative politics about the US - just so inappropriate for a sporting event. The worst part was that at the end of the match, the US women were booed as they left the field ! No one should ever boo an Olympic athlete - Shame on you !! During the second match, they continued to do the same to Mexico. Many of the Mexican fans got up and left our section. I sure hope they don't have tickets to tonight's match - I'm sure the Canadian team doesn't want to be represented by a group like this.

It was thrilling to watch the Canadian team play Mexico. The women deserved a big crowd as they played their hearts out! It was so exciting to see how motivating the recognition was for the players. Great game girls, played with great heart! Go, Canada, go!

Wish that publicity had been better. Only 7000+ in stands for Olympic qualifying in a major city? Should have reached out to high school soccer, youth soccer, etc. etc.

Given the size of the venue and the attendance, I think the way the seats have been allocated is great and creates lots of atmosphere considering the games are not sell outs. The soccer event was fantastic, the crowds were great. I was absolutely amazed at the complete lack of services for patrons. The number of concessions that were open relative to the attendance (over 12,000) was absolutely HORRENDOUS! The line up to get a snack or drink from the main concession at half time was over 50 people long and the lines moved so, so, so slow. BC Place is not providing adequate service for this event. I am attending the semi-finals in which Canada is playing, I plan to attend the finals in which I hope Canada will be playing, I really hope BC Place properly manages its services for food and beverage so people don't have to spend over a half hour in line waiting to get popcorn. Open more concessions, get more staff, provide a service to people who are willing to spend money. The amount of people who WERE NOT waiting in line and going without a drink or snack was tremendous, myself included. Yes, I do expect to wait a bit but not excessively b/c adequate numbers of concession windows are not staffed. I really hope BC Place sorts this out for the remaining events. Seriously, encourage people to have a good time with a beer in hand and a snack.... open more concessions, get more staff. Why create a repeat of the BC Lions home-opener but this time for women's soccer? Seriously, sort it out. Otherwise, excellent event.
