Completely Unchained at Wally's Hampton Beach NH

    by J. P. on 6/19/23Wally's - Hampton

Let me tell you all what a freaking great surprise to see this completely energized Van Halen Tribute band come Jump(ing) on stage at Wally's biker bar in Hampton Beach NH. The drummer was insane! So much energy as he was SO animated on the sticks! He constantly threw his sticks in the air mid (every) song, and he even balanced one drum stick on his right hand all the while expertly keeping rhythm with the other. He even picked up his cymbal stand and banged it atop the other cymbal at the end of (forgive me can't remember which) one song. I was enjoying the show too much to remember! It was hard to hear all the names of the band members--But let me say the Lead Guitar had his own "Frankenstrat" and it was uncanny how much he looked like the late guitar master in the face! It was so cool to see that! And he was freaking nasty on it, and such mastery of the VH (David Lee Roth collection) songs! It was SO much fun watching him shred! Bassist (again looked very close to Michael Anthony) complete with orange jumpsuit, rocked as well! You could feel his bass thrum with every song. And the lead? He also looked quite like DLR himself too! He didn't have as gruff a voice as DLR, but he KILLED it on David's nuances like the screams, spoken word (Panama) and over all HIGH energy and leg kicks! During Jump the 3 front men strutted just like the boys did together. It was so much like seeing the real band! Runnin'; Ice Cream Man, 'Bout Love; Really Got Me; Jump; Mean Streets, Pretty Woman, Jamie's Cryin'; Dance the Night Away; Everybody Wants Some and Panama (killer opening Drum intro!); Drop Dead Legs, Hot for Teacher and denouement of (what else?) Unchained! What an Awesome Set! The Crowd so love the show too! I would definitely see Completely Unchained again!

    Completely AWESOME

    by J. S. on 4/17/23Elevation 27 - Virginia Beach

I've seen these guys about 7 or 8 times now and they always perform an energetic and entertaining show. HIGHLY recommended!!! Several band members also post on social media referencing the Virginia Beach area and comment how they enjoy coming back. Good to hear VH classics as always.`

    Great time

by OG VH Fan on 11/15/21Elevation 27 - Virginia Beach

Very entertaining. They played all the David Lee Roth music. Sorry Van Hagar fans no Hagar at this show. They look like VH. Let your imagination go for while. Pretend it really is Eddie, Dave, Alex, and Micheal.

    Sounded great

    by Mike H on 11/15/21Elevation 27 - Virginia Beach

The band sounded great, but I was unable to see them most of the time, as a couple of people at the table in front of us insisted on constantly standing up. Probably would have been 5 stars if not for that.

    Just like the real thing

by Redtlc on 4/30/19Turning Stone Resort Casino Showroom - Verona

I have been to many Van Halen shows in the past, and I know what the VH experience is like. Completely Unchained is a group of 4 talented musicians, that have taken the painstaking effort to reproduce an authentic stage and musical proformance that transport you back in time when VH was at the top of their game. The sound, the choreography, the facial expressions make you question whether this is the real thing. The audience enthusiasm and participation made me believe that some fans didn't know this was not the real Van Halen. I have seen a couple of VH tribute bands over the years, and this one made me want to hop in the car and travel to see their next show. The attention to detail made it the best. The band members rushed out after the show to greet the spectators as they exited the theater. Truly a one of a kind experience, that is worth every penny. If you too want to experience the trip back in time, check out completely unchained' web site and catch a show near you.

CU is Best VH Tribute band around

by VHFan4ever on 8/21/14Turning Stone Casino - Verona

Completely Unchained is a great band and hands down the best Van Halen tribute band there is....yes I have seen the Punks and they don't hold a candle to these guys. I have seen CU 4 times and my wife and I will be at this show as well. IDK what that first reviewer is talking about, maybe he's a disgruntled bass player? These guys play all their own instruments, sing like you wouldn't believe and put on a fantastic show! If you're a VH fan, you will love these guys!

by Bumman on 12/10/13Turning Stone Resort & Casino Showroom - Verona

Completely Unchained is 70% flash and 30% music. My wife and I have seen many tribute bands at the Turning Stone, and this one was not up to the level of the others. The lead guitarist was very good, and of course very fast, as you would expect a Van Halen tribute guitarist to be. The drummer was a good one, rock solid dependable. The lead singer did a regular David Lee Roth imitation. The bass player did a wonderful job of cavorting around on stage, and a terrible job of faking it. The band was using a digital bass line, (pre-recorded) and I hate to see that stuff. The guy was so inept that he would put both his arms up and clap his hands while the bass line was still playing! I'd rather see a genuine bass player anytime, even if he has to stand still to do his job. All in all, not worth the time. By the way, when the lead singer has to ask the audience ten times if they're having fun, usually that means they're not.
