Come From Away really soars
Pensacola Saenger Theatre - Pensacola
I saw the national touring company of Come From Away Friday night in Pensacola. The show was amazing. Based on true stories, it tells the story of September 11, 2001 in Gander (Newfoundland). The cast brought the characters to life with energy and enthusiasm. The audience was drawn in from the first note. To say the audience exploded into applause at the end is not an exaggeration. It's touching, funny and very informational. It also restores hope in the human race when you realize how welcoming the town of Gander was to the 7000 people who were stranded there. A must see!

Very entertaining
Pensacola Saenger Theatre - Pensacola
We really had no idea what to expect, and what we experienced was unlike most anything on the stage we have seen. This is not a "polished"production, it does glitter with stars, no stunning choreography, its' sets are basically some chairs rearranged to fit the scene a couple of tables, some tree trunks (?). and a backdrop that came into play occasionally. Music is provided by about 8 folks on guitar, a squeeze box, a violin, other instruments and I think a keyboard. The story is relatively well-known. So making this entertaining, funny while also respectful and poignant, had to be a challenge. This group met the challenge. The music was for the most part very upbeat, at times melancholy, and always fit very well into what was occurring on the stage and the mood being projected. The cast for the most part looked like pretty much anyone, which made the effect all the more engrossing. This was a very well done musical that, to me, was semi-surprisingly a wonderful experience. The audience heartily seemed to agree with open laughter and at the end thunderous applause. Well deserved. The play is actually currently playing on Netflix. Catch it live if you can, but if not in your area catch it on Netflix. It is worth it.

Great show, enjoy!
Pensacola Saenger Theatre - Pensacola
Sometimes when the traveling broadway comes through our tiny town we don’t get the A rated version. But these performers were fantastic, well done. Also tonight all of us a piece of history I did not know about. Enjoy the show, it is simple, heartwarming and heart wrenching at the same time.

9-11 based show
Pensacola Saenger Theatre - Pensacola
This was a great show about what happened to diverted airline passengers after 9-11. Featured the generous people of Gander. Realistic, hopeful displaying good spirited people.

Great true story of our neighbors to the north and their unexpected visitors during the week of 9-11-2001. As they say: you couldn’t make this up…it really happened.

Amazing performance in Evans, GA! I also saw it at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta a couple of years ago. The actors were exceptional and the show has something for everyone. I LOVE the music in this show. DO NOT MISS IT!

Incredible performance!!!

I have listened to this show off and on for awhile and have always enjoyed the music. This is the first time I've seen the show performed and it was fabulous. Every performer was flawless in transitioning between their many characters, and I was in tears (in the best way) for most of the show. I fully recommend seeing it!

A memorable 9/11 performance!

Very well done and poignant show. Even the fire alarm and evacuation of the building during the performance didn't distract the performers.
