    Fun show!!

by chicagowoman on 1/13/12Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

I found this show to be set up very similarly to Moving Out, set to the music of Billy Joel. I love Frank Sinatra music, so that aspect was very enjoyable. The dancing is really what this show is about....amazing dancers doing a cross between modern dance and ballet. The dancers showed strengths throughout the show. Set design was appropriate to the "loose story lines" but not as good as Moving Out, which featured some special effects. I would recommend this to any fan of Frank as well as dancing.

    Not for the elderly

by ChocolateMilk on 1/13/12Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

I purchased these tickets for my grandmother as a Christmas present since she is a fan of musicals and Sinatra. Well this is defiantly not a musical in the traditional sense, but more like 80 minutes of interpretive dance. The music was all prerecorded with the exception of the big band, sometimes. That was not the worst part of the performance though, about halfway through the show the performers started to strip. Mind you they did not get completely naked, but I was also with my grandmother. The dry humping that was part of the dances made this a very uncomfortable performance. I felt like I was at a strip club with granny.

    Come Fly Away

by BigBander on 1/12/12Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

While I thoroughly enjoyed the concept of a jazz ballet set to Frank Sinatra's voice and music while accompanied by a 'big band', I was disappointed that the band wasn't actually a BIG band as it only had 3 trumpets, 3 trombones and 4, saxes (as opposed to the tradition 5, 5, 5 horn section). The players were great but the sound was not a true and full sounding big band. Also, there was a number entirely accompanied by a PRE-RECORDED TRACK, including the non-existent string and percussion sections, with while the live musicians twiddled there thumbs. I felt this was a poor artistic decision, and obviously motivated by cost cutting and budget concerns. Last,y for a 75 minute show (with no intermission) without the full compliment of musicians required to render this style properly, I would have expect the ticket price to be less than the usual (and costly) Broadway in Chicago fare.

    Enjoyed "Come Fly Away"

by KandJB on 1/12/12Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

Didn't know what to expect and was worried that my husband wouldn't appreciate a dance program. Happily he enjoyed it and we both loved the music from the "real" Frank singing to the fantastic live orchestra playing with him. And the dancing! Wonderful time and just the right length.

    Great Dancing

by PlayObssessed on 1/12/12Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

I thought the play had great dancing and a great band, but we would have liked to see someone singing Frank Sinatra songs instead of him just being a recording. Overall it was entertaining

    Surprising

by jdtm on 1/12/12Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

I take my mother to the theater every year for her holiday gift. After I purchased these tickets I read reviews that were not very flattering and was afraid I had not chosen well. What a nice surprise this was! The music of Sinatra of course was terrific, the live musicians on stage was a huge plus. However, the dancing..WOW.

I was expecting something where there would be people singing Sinatra, not just dancing to sinatra tunes and could not believe i was paying that price for a 1 hour and 15 minute show.
