    Disappointed

by BW on 11/25/19Southern Theatre - Columbus

Have wanted to hear Handel's Messiah, decided to go this year. Only partial orchestra, choir could have bee louder. Just didn't seem as majestic and overpowering as I expected. Feel like I need to hear it with the full orchestra with a bigger choir if I ever get the opportunity again and can spend the $.

    excellent

by domer on 11/25/19Southern Theatre - Columbus

Always love the symphony and chorus and they were excellent as usual. Particularly enjoyed the venue at the Southern Theater. While the Ohio is astounding, the Southern was warm and intimate and fitting for the Messiah.

    Mixed Feelings

    by M. n. on 11/12/19Ohio Theatre - Columbus

I thought the idea of the Brahms Radiohead mashup was brilliant, and the arrangements were beautiful. Several things greatly reduced our pleasure, however. The theater was way too warm, and the mixing of the vocals was poorly done, making the singers sound shrill. Also, the female singer's exaggerated movements while singing were distracting. She had a beautiful voice, though!

Loved Brahms v Radiohead! It was unique and creative. I’m a big fan of Radiohead and now have a new appreciation for Brahms as well. Highly recommend.

    It was absolutely wonderful!!!

by Krissy on 11/4/19Ohio Theatre - Columbus

My Granddaughter is in her second year of playing the Cello. I bought these tickets as her birthday present and we were both completely elated with this evening. I felt moved to tears at some parts and the music just took you away to a place only music can. It gave my Granddaughter an understanding that all musicians start where she is now. We all have to begin at some point. I am 63yrs old and just started piano lessons this summer. Music is a universal language we all get a different meaning from. It was a fantastic evening and I can't say enough how special it was to be in such a beautiful place, hearing beautiful music and sharing it with my lovely Granddaughter. Thank you for giving us this wonderful experience.

    Excellent

by The Real Deal on 10/23/19Ohio Theatre - Columbus

I really enjoyed myself. The music was so well played sometimes I forgot they were there under the screen. Great to see so many kids there celebrating the movie. Lots of fun costumes. Conductor was very good at working the crowd. Definitely see it if you have the chance.

    Great show

    by Funcle77 on 10/22/19Ohio Theatre - Columbus

The music was spot on, the screen could be a little larger as it was a bit hard to see in the upper portion of the theater. Always a great time with the CSO

    Really excellent singing and orchestra.

by JoeF on 10/16/19Ohio Theatre - Columbus

Having the words in program really helps as my seat didn’t let me see the projected words on screen. But still just beautiful even though some tough stories are told.

    American Festival was a triumph

    by K. on 10/15/19Ohio Theatre - Columbus

Sanctuary Road performance was powerful and moving – so thankful that Rossen Milanov brought this work to Columbus. This important piece of American history needs to be witnessed all over the country. The symphony, the chorus, and the individual vocalists were all outstanding. The second half featuring music from Porgy and Bess was equally well executed and highly entertaining. One of the best shows I’ve ever attended!
