About

The music of Colony House--an indie rock band made up of brothers Will and Caleb Chapman ,as well as Scott Mills and Parke Cottrell--is playfully self-described as "landlocked surf rock." Their personal genre designation is as much inspired by their hometown of Franklin, Tenn. as their new album The Cannonballers is; "In short, Tennessee was the inspiration for this project," frontman Caleb Chapman says. "We got to see the seasons change and experience our home again for the first time in a long time. I think I was falling back in love with Tennessee, and I started revisiting some old memories and old relationships in my head that pertained to certain geographical locations as well as just emotional places I had spent my most formative years." The band's music is built on pillars of honesty, accessibility and family, and much of TheCannonballers is too: within 11 tracks, the band delves into where they come from and how a place, and its memories, have made them.

    Great show, unforgettable night

by Saintbuckeye on 2/26/17The Basement - Columbus

It started with Deep Sea Diver... and what can you say? They legit rocked. Jessica can shred and get the party going. DSD played a great lineup and created new fans, only one person had previously seen them live (they asked). When Colony House took the stage the spirit was already high and they totally blew up the joint. I mean from the beginning to the end it was amazing. No encore was done, they just played it out like a bunch of bad asses. I will definitely see Colony House anytime I can.

    Genuine, good band

by Huzi on 2/25/17The Club at Stage AE - Pittsburgh

One day I was listening to my Discover Weekly on Spotify and these guys popped up. 3 weeks later, I bought a ticket and went to their show and it was incredible. Colony House is a genuine, good band. They are the type of band that makes you feel something. Buy their music, buy tickets to see them live, buy their merch, do it all. Seriously. So good.

Rough Trade is a very cool venue, and probably my new favorite music venue in the city. Colony House and Coin were both amazing live! Definitly a band that I can see making it big in the future.
