Colin Hay was in top form!

by PhilConnors on 10/2/09Variety Playhouse - Atlanta

Fantastic show! Colin's voice sounded great and his guitar playing was perfect. Not only did he entertain the audience with his songs but had great stories to share. Amazing to see an experienced professional musician pull off a one man show so effortlessly. Just wish the people that thought it was ok to talk during the entire show would stay home.

Colin Hay in top three shows we've ever seen.

by everysandwich on 10/2/09Variety Playhouse - Atlanta

That's my wife's assessment, and mine as well, though I've seen more shows than she. Colin Hay puts on as perfect a show as one man and an acoustic guitar can. Flawless vocally and instrumentally, and his stories, jokes and interaction with the audience make his shows truly unforgettable. I'd heard really good things about him live. They were understatements. You just have to experience it.

    Amazing Performance

by Nail on 10/2/09Variety Playhouse - Atlanta

Not a huge fan, but I thoroughly enjoyed the opener and the headliner. Sat in a plastic lawn chair, but it was still great.

    Colin Hay was phenomenal!

by zaxl on 10/2/09Variety Playhouse - Atlanta

Not only is he an amazing singer/songwriter, Colin Hay is a comedian! He was constantly engaging the audience - with personal stories, jokes, impressions and more. I would have had a fantastic time just listening to him speak - he's incredibly funny. And then....there's that voice. A true delight of a concert.

by bflo88 on 8/31/09The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

Colin Hay's voice was perfect along with his guitar playing. The band sounded great. I loved his new songs. He appeared tired and burned out from playing his fifth straight night.

    Incredible show

by Josephhnovak on 8/30/09The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

Colin Hay put on a great show. I'm a big fan of his, so hearing all of the new music mixed in with his older songs was a treat for me. His voice sounds better than it ever has and the band he has supporting him were dead on all night. Colin worked the crowd well and had me wanting more after the last song. I also got a chance to meet him after the show. Very cool!!!!

    Colin Hay's a Great Entertainer

by Beegirl on 8/30/09Showcase Live - Foxboro

What a treat it was to see Colin Hay in an intimate setting. He played for over 2 hours and included old Men at work favorites and newer solo material. Interacting with the audience seems so natural for Colin and his sense of humor shined through the entire performance. I loved hearing the stories behind the songs.

Colin Hay....the voice of Men at Work

by jubalshire on 8/29/09Showcase Live - Foxboro

I never considered myself a huge fan of Men at Work; so, when I saw Colin Hay's tour coming around here to New England, my curiosity got the best of me and I'm sure glad it did. Colin Hay....the voice of Men at Work put on a show that will make anyone who has enjoyed his big hits on the radio; remember back to less complicated days that were the beginnings of the MTV generation, known as the early 80's. His solo career is much longer than his time spent in Men at Work; and from that journey has resulted in a long list of amazing music that made for one unforgettable night. Hits like "Beautiful World", "Love is Innocent", and "Waiting for my Real Life to Begin" were all there along with some songs not familiar; yet, felt so right. Showcase Live! down in Foxboro hosted the evening with a new building, smart decor and a tasty dinner menu that made the evening enjoyable from start to finish. I was a little surprised by his casual appearance; all gruff and weary looking from a long tour. But, as soon as he opened his mouth and started to sing, "Down by the sea" I knew I was in for a great evening. He spent the night onstage with his band weaving a mixture of silly stories, insights into other songwriters, and a long string of beautiful music that had the whole place hanging on his every word. Each song came with a flurry of applause and whistles that got even louder when he played his old songs from Men at Work. The musical journey Colin Hay took us on that night will be part of my memories for a long time to come. Thanks Colin for one hell of a night!

    Colin Hay was amazing

by MKT55 on 8/29/09The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

One of the very best concerts ever. Loved the venue. Every song was special. He signed autographs after the concert and I don't think you see that with many artists today. I loved his bantor with the audience, very personable and witty guy.

    Love Colin's Voice!!!

    by Musicfan160 on 8/27/09Showcase Live - Foxboro

Colin Hay's performance at Showcase Live was wonderful. What a great venue to hear a concert. He still has that fantastic voice, mesmerizing and crystal clear. Musically he's great to hear both singing and playing the guitar, the band was hot and his banter between songs was entertaining, humorous and self-depricating. I hope he comes to this area again soon so I can get another fix of Colin! Love that he came out to sign CDs and take pictures after the show! What a down-to-earth guy! He'd be a blast to have a beer with, if only he was still drinking...

Colin Hay was an unforgettable experience!

by obiwankenobi on 8/27/09Showcase Live - Foxboro

Showcase Live is now my favorite place to see a music artist. The food is fantastic and the size makes it one of THE most intimate places to watch a performance!! Colin Hay was absolutely amazing!! He makes everyone in the audience feel like they are close personal friends of his with his storytelling between songs. His songwriting is at it's peak and the sound quality at the show was the best that I have heard in a long, long time!!

    Colin Hay at the Recher

    by Red69Rover on 8/27/09Recher Theatre - Towson

Colin Hay's set was a great mix of old and new, and the band was great. The woman dancing and providing backup vocals/sounds was more distracting than she needed to be, but I considered it a necessary evil, so to speak. Unfortunately, the folks at the Recher need to remember that they're a small venue, not a stadium. I've attended many loud concerts before, and this was the first for which my wife and I needed to purchase ear plugs. It really was that loud. If you like the old Men at Work songs, and equally enjoy Colin's solo work, he's well worth the price of admission.

    Wow! What a voice!

by LIBBerated on 8/20/09Diesel Club Lounge - Pittsburgh

When Colin took the stage, and started singing, you just knew the night was going to be awesome! He never missed a note, a word or a key! His music was great! The old stuff sounded just like Men At Work (except for Who Can It Be Now. Without the sax it was a bit "Spooky" as Colin said). Overkill was terrific, and all of his new stuff that I hadn't heard before was great, too! All in all, it goes to the top of my list as one of my favorite concerts of all time!

the old mans still got it.

by vstrom650at57 on 8/19/09Diesel Club Lounge - Pittsburgh

Colin Hay is established, he's comfortable, he is talented and he communicates well with the people. His wife is incredibly sexy and the band backs him well. I don't know how he survives on what he must make after expenses, but I am glad he is taking it to the streets.
