    Enjoyable evening

by rosebud on 2/24/20Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

Enjoyable evening! Brought back memories of a real Carpenter concert in November 1973, At Arie Crown Theather Chicago, Illinois.

    Not again

by Disappointed on 2/24/20Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

Although the songs are Memoriable the singer cannot hold a high note and the show would be better if they auditioned for someone who actually sounded like Karen Carpenter.

    Close To You Tribute

by Candy on 2/24/20Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

Excellent show. This tribute band is amazingly talented. If i closed my eyes, It was almost like I was listening to Karen Carpenter singing. It was a great nostalgic experience. The venue at Genessee Theatre was so nice. This is Lake County’s hidden gem!

Love the facility! But the show, felt like a lounge show

by M. on 1/29/20Balboa Theatre - San Diego

Would not recommend it, to friends and family. Not of the caliber, to be at the Balboa Theater.

    Reminiscent

    by D. S. on 1/29/20Balboa Theatre - San Diego

Good to hear those old songs again. Liked hearing background history to some of them. Although Lisa is very personable, has a good voice and sings in the same general register as Karen Carpenter, her voice is not as deep or smooth as Karens. So don't expect a sound alike and just enjoy the music. The band and background vocals were very good as was the venue.

    Yesterday Once More

by Amanda W on 1/29/20Balboa Theatre - San Diego

Lisa Rock had the voice to bring back all those Carpenters songs to the present day. I especially like the backstories of the songs and Rock's interaction with the audience. It truly seemed like she liked being with us and her band. I'd love to see her again.

    We had a great time.

by BMer on 1/29/20Balboa Theatre - San Diego

The performance was outstanding. The historical context was spot on. There was one song when it seemed that the pitch was all wrong (Sing a Song, I think). We figured it was due to some limits on vocal range and it did not detract from our overall enjoyment of the evening. Lisa was quite warm and welcoming during the intermission and took time to pose for photos with fans. We definitely would return.
