I think there are only 3-4 Cirque du Soleil shows in the world that I have not seen, of all that have ever toured. They are each completely unique, yet cohesively "cirque". They are all worth every penny. With "Crystal", I wondered how a traveling ice show could possibly measure up to legacy shows with permanent theaters, like Beatles Love. It measured up and then some! The acrobatics, juggling, clowning (he is gifted), and skating was as elevated as one expects from Cirque performers. Yet, the story was particularly memorable, compared to some others. I loved the focus on a woman's story, her journey of knowing self and empowerment. The music was contemporary and moving, utilizing recognizable hits. The lighting was futuristically state-of-the-art. They made just a one-piece set and half an arena of ice absolutely transporting to multiple worlds of color, magic, and mystery. There was only one act I craved that was not offered to the audience--top level pairs skating with some triples and throws peppered in. Go see Crystal--you will be glad you did.
