I'll make this fairly short, no need to write a novel here. Let's get the negatives out of the way first:
Showtime was 8:00 PM. Arrived at 8 and had to listen to a local high school kid play a half hour acoustic set of obscure folk rock. When I say 'acoustic set', I mean it is this kid with a guitar, that's it. I know this isn't a big arena show, but there wasn't a local rock band available? Not that the kid was bad, he was very talented, just really not what I was wanting or expecting to have to listen to. Then after the kid was done we were made to wait AN HOUR for Tom to finally hit the stage. Really don't understand the wait, his gear was already all set up. Just unnecessary.
Now onto the good: Tom was, as always, ON. I know he has vocal issues, but I've seen the man 4 times and he's always sounded fantastic. Show starts off heavy, then slows into an acoustic set for awhile before going heavy to end it. Tom plays about half new material and half Cinderella classics, with a very well selected cover thrown in for good measure. Between songs Tom is very engaging and speaks about what went into writing and creating some of the songs. The new material is good, but it's clear why this is a Tom Keifer solo record and not a Cinderella record, as his new material is a bit all over the place genre wise. Not a bad thing, just go in with an open mind.
