Church Basement Ladies was hilarious and well done

by LizAlly on 4/14/14Memorial Auditorium - Burlington

This play was absolutely the best stage presentation I have seen since my visit to NYC. The Ladies singing voices were perfect for the part they played and the Preacher was great! I enjoyed the Basement Ladies more than any movies I have viewed lately. I just wish more of the citizens of Burlington would have taken the time to go. They don't know what they missed. Their loss. Hope more of this quality performance can come to Burlington.

    Wonderful!

by Anonymous on 4/14/14Memorial Auditorium - Burlington

Acting, sound, music, lighting, all excellent! Just wish for $80.00 we could have at least had a program to take home with the names of the actors and some info about their background and the play! We like to keep these to look back on over the years!

CBL was a wonderful professional musical!!!!!!

by Mistymorn on 4/14/14Memorial Auditorium - Burlington

The 4 ladies and man that was the wonderful cast of the CBL gave a performance just like there was a 1,000 people instead of 200 in the audience. I was ashamed of Burlington's poor attendance. I took my 84 yr old mother for her birthday and she was so pleased. Thanks for helping us make great memories for us to share later.

    Tongue-In-Cheek Performance of Church Basement

by MuzicalStageD1 on 4/10/14Topeka Performing Arts Center - Topeka

The front of house staff did a fabulous job. We received help in finding our seats, and the staff was welcoming and friendly. I really appreciate the ticket scanning system, it makes it super easy for admission. The facility is awesome, clean, and professional. I really appreciated the concessions available at intermission, although I thought it was strange to serve beer at that particular event. The performers were top notch. Sometimes, the sound was a bit muffled as the actors were dancing. I think too I might have been due to the voicing and orchestration. Overall, the show is very clever "tongue-in-cheek" I'm personally so happy that we can bring acts such as these to TPAC.

    Funny and Unexpected!

by OrangeOwl33 on 4/8/14HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des Moines

The show started off slow and I wasn't sure I was going to like it at first but after it got going it turned out to be quite funny. The characters and story line were absolutely believable. The 2nd half was especially good. The venue was beautiful...seats not so comfortable though. The show is worth seeing in my opinion.

This Church Basement Ladies was just OK

by Anonymous on 4/8/14HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des Moines

This Church Basement Ladies was enjoyable, but not as good as the first couple. The singing was good however I thought the story line was a little goofy. Really, the Catholic's kitchen exactly like the Lutheran's.

    Mighty Fortress Church Basement ladies

by Lutheran1girl on 4/7/14HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des Moines

I was really looking forward to this, but I thought it was on the caliber of a high school play. Did not meet my expectations.

Love the Church Basment Ladies on going stories

by MEM69 on 4/7/14HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des Moines

The church Basment Ladies bring back some wonderful memories of growing up and helping in the kitchen of my Mehodist church! The kitchen ladies are the same no matter their location or faith. The actresses are super! Their voices are "angelic"! This was my third production and I hope to see more.

Basement ladies was very cute and funny!

by HausM on 1/18/14Burnsville Performing Arts Center - Burnsville

The show was very cute and funny. I enjoyed how they made fun of Lutheran's, and Norwegian's, of which I am both, and also a little Catholic, but it was done non-offensively. It was all in good humor!

    Church Basement Women were hysterical

by ScandinavianProud on 1/14/14Chester Fritz Auditorium - Grand Forks

The play was wonderful and reminiscent of earlier days, for sure, as a young girl. I felt like was 5 yrs old again, standing off to the side like I was told, and passively listened to the drama and calamity ensue. There were many "Laugh Out Loud" moments. The best part, was having my best friend of 40 years with me that could relate to every comment and quip. We were a little disappointed the merchandise wasn't set up during intermission as told in the Welcome. Sound and lighting was great. Seats were comfortable. Voices impeccable.

    This was really awful

by Tandabuss on 1/12/14Burnsville Performing Arts Center - Burnsville

I loved the premise of the show--and had heard good things about the previous shows in the series--but except for the set, everything about this show was bad. Some of the actors forgot lines, some couldn't sing, the jokes were tired and stale, etc. We left at intermission.
