BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Atlanta-born Chris Tucker attended high school in Decatur before moving to Los Angeles to pursue his dreams of becoming an entertainer. By age 20 he was a regular performer on the Def Comedy Jam, and in 1995 he got his breakout film role in the stoner comedy Friday starring alongside rapper Ice Cube. More silver screen success followed in 1997 with his critically acclaimed role in The Fifth Element, where he played a hilarious reality television host from the future. In 1998 he starred in the first of three movies in the Rush Hour film series, earning $25 million for his appearance in 2007's Rush Hour 3 -- the highest salary of any Hollywood actor at the time. A beloved stand-up comedian with a knack for impersonations and an insider's knowledge of Hollywood power circles, Tucker continues to crack audiences up on his hilarious tours.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Chris Tucker was too funny. I would recommend that everyone go and see his show. He had me in stitches. It's such an excellent show. "

"Chris Tucker was everything we hoped he'd be. He told a lot of personal stories - my favorite being his advice from his Grandpa on marriage. He then showed his singing skills with some more interesting tales. He is just as animated in real life as he is on film."

"My husband and I laughed the entire show. He did great impersonations and did the entire show without using a ton of vulgar language. This man has class and style. A true professional entertainer."

    Disappointed

by JrewDrew on 1/2/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - Atlanta

I was so excited to see Tucker and was happy to be supporting him after his hibernation but was very DISAPPOINTED. His jokes were mediocre and not that funny. He sang about 4 Michael Jackson songs which upset me because he could have used that time to tell jokes. To add to that, I had to strain to hear the bad jokes because there was audio problems. Many people left early. For the price that I paid, I expected so much more. I wish him the best but won't be supporting anymore of his stand-up performances.

    Needs Better Material

by Puddin2 on 1/2/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - Atlanta

I had heard Chris puts on a good show, however I was a bit disappointed. His material was not funny to me. As a standup comic I expected better. Perhaps he's been away too long and has lost touch with his audiences. Being prepared puts you more than half way there. His opening act, Angie Stone was a pleasant surprise. Again being prepared helps, obviously she was not prepared either. She said she left her makeup and wore subglasses the whole time, her outfit was too tight/small because she kept pulling on it. She tried to do a tribute to Teena Marie and failed miserably by not knowing the words to her best songs. For the both of them, the next time BE PREPARED!

I like Chris Tucker, but this show was a bit disappointing. He was clearly off and not on top of his comedy routine. Also, I was expecting more comedy than music. Angie Stone was good but I would have preferred another comedian.

    very dissapointed

by Tuckerfan on 1/2/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - Atlanta

I was very disappointed with the show. IT TOOK FOREVER TO START!!! It started at almost 9pm. My family and I got there 7:30 and we waited forever for the show to start. We sat in the middle; top floor and we couldn’t understand half of what Chris was saying, the echo was horrible making it impossible to understand anything. We ended up leaving 30 minutes after Chris start and I would never go back for anything similar again.

    Chris was Hillarious

by Febeautiful on 1/2/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - Atlanta

THe New Year was definietly brought in with a bang! Chris Tucker was Hillarious. He did new material, a few Michael Jackson songs and dance moves. Opening act "Angie Stone" was remarable as well. Best New year yet, would go again and again.

    Waste of Money

by Starks80 on 1/2/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - Atlanta

Chris Tucker jokes seemed unorganized. Most of them didn't have a punchline and he let the crowd somewhat dictate his show and then some of his material was old(I mean def comedy jam old). You can fool me once but never again will I spend money to see him live. Stick to movies not stand up.

    I LOVE Chris Tucker, BUT.......!!!!!

by oneluv904 on 1/2/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - Atlanta

The show was GARBAGE! I was in the 3rd row with a clear view and couldn't hear what he was saying for half of his jokes. The sound was AWFUL! It appeared that Chris ran out of jokes and spent WAAAAYYY too much time talking about Michael Jackson. I was VERY disappointed!

    Looking forward to more Chris

by atb3183 on 1/2/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - Atlanta

Although he "played it safe" with his jokes, I realized how much we missed him. I didn't like that he spent so much time trying to sing Michael Jackson, but I think it's because he was tired and ran out of jokes. However, we will always support him and appreciate him giving us a laugh to bring in the new year!!!

    Okay Performance

by Carole1966 on 1/2/11The Fox Theatre - Atlanta

I was very excited to see Chris perform on New Year's Eve. The show started late due to setting up the VIP section as stated on his twitter account. Angie Stone performed, she was great!!! It seems that she was a last minute thought to be added to the show which was okay. She sung,"Brown Sugar" by her ex-boyfriend. I was hoping she would sing it. Okay, back to Chris...he came out dressed in all black and he seemed to have slimmed down. He was dancing and of course the crowd stood up and danced as well. He started off strong with his jokes, but when the crowd starting yelling Smoky and other words, it threw him off track. He didn't stick to his agenda. He reverted back to some jokes of the past which were well known. His performance ended weak. He also sung some Michael Jackson songs (2). I didn't notice the crowd laughing loudly only chuckles here and there. My husband did laugh at one of his Obama/Clinton jokes. I will still support Chris in his endeavors.

    Good show!!

by Chick2000 on 1/2/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - Atlanta

Although the show started late, Chris Tucker's act was good. I would have preferred a comedian as the opening act versus Angie Stone. Also, Chris Tucker should have left out the singing (Michael Jackson) as part of his Act. Overall: good New Year's Eve show.

    Chris Tucker Show

by Porchop on 1/2/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - Atlanta

Unfortunately the sound system was the pits, it was very dificult for me to hear what Chris was saying. Yes I could hear some things but not all, therefore my rating of the show is low. Angie Stone's performance, the music was extremely loud and it was dificult to understand what she was saying.

    Good, but not great.

by DJCHUCKWALLS on 1/2/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - Atlanta

I'm a fan and supporter of Chris Tucker and have never seen him perform a stand-up routine in person. Was glad to see him back on the scene. I enjoyed the show but both me and my girlfriend expected more, to be falling out of our seats laughing. Started a little slow out the gate then got better. I'm still gonna support the next show. Just want to be blown away next time.

    Chris is Rusty...

    by RE1fn on 1/1/11FOX Theatre - Atlanta

My wife and I were excited to attend this show on New Year's Eve, but it started flat with Angie Stone, no opening comic to get the crowd hyped up, and Chris' material was pretty blah. There were a couple of funny moments, but it felt very incomplete. This is why a lot of the big name comics-turned-actors go back to small venues to practice their material before returning to standup. He jumped right back into a big venue and fell flat. I fell alseep during Angie Stone's set, and my wife dozed for a couple of minutes during Chris' routine. That pretty much sums it up. I wish him the best on the comeback trail and think he'll improve his material, but we were the guinea pigs this go 'round!

    Disappointing

by ATLDiva on 1/1/11Fox Theater - Atlanta

Chris makes clear from the start that he's back on stage to earn money to pay off debt owed to the IRS. Unfortunately, it came through in his lackluster performance. There were a few laugh out loud moments but his material and timing need work. I was excited in anticipation of the show and was left feeling sorry for Chris' financial situation and the resulting so-so show. He's capable of better. Let's hope he improves with time.
