So we got tickets for Kattan on a whim because we wanted to go out on a Wednesday. It was a special engagment, so the tickets were a little more then usual, but whatever, still very affordable Kattan brought his "friends" who were a lot funnier then he was. The rest of the comics opening for Kattan had actual acts. They did comedy routines. Chris Kattan talked about his time at the SNL 40th party for about 30 mins. He name dropped a ton of celebs. The thing is, he stories weren't funny. At All. Maybe if the stories he told about the celebs he ran across were funny, I wouldn't be writing this. However, he had no material. It was basically an evening with Chris Kattan talking about SNL. Thanks, but no thanks. Please don't charge premium dollars for FunnyBone and not have any material. Talking about your past, when you weren't even a headliner seems very needy. I had to google Mr. Peepers. Anyways, FunnyBone staff was great, and the comedians before him were hilarious. Also, he asked if any girls wanted to hug him at the end of the show. Ummmm, dude, that is weird. Maybe your name should be Mr. Creepers.
The first three acts were funny, especially Basile. The young woman from Yerington was also funny and the emcee made us laugh. This made us think the headliner would be great. We could not have been more wrong. Chris Kattan may have been in some funny shows but he is NOT a stand up comedian. I don't think we laughed a single time during his performance. He just talked about other performers (who are funny) and his interaction with them. I must say, Chris Kattan was a huge disappointment. Fortunately, Basile was very funny and that made it worth the price we paid.
The two opening acts were good. Chris Kattan did not tell jokes. It was more like him name dropping, having a bar conversation with him, telling stories. I like him on SNL but this was not a performance, very disappointed.
Opening act RON was funny. The host of the show was mediocre. Chris Kattan could have been better. Overall, mediocre experience but tickets were cheap enough. Drinks were expensive!
Fantastic show. Wait staff was FANTASTIC and on point. Everyone was great. Chris looked like ****, though. I know he is getting old, but he looks sad and angry. I feel bad for him. Nonetheless, he came out a little shaky, and after about 10 minutes, BOOM, hilarious set. I would absolutely go see him again. Hope Mr. Kattan feels better. :)
I hardly write reviews but I'm making an exception to do this review. I go to a lot of comedies, after looking up Chris and saw the different shows he's been to, my expectations were hight but I was very disappointed! There was not a single moment of laughter between my girlfriend and I we sat there and stared at each other for having wasted our evening to go to this show. Bottom line, he sucked as a standup comedian, he should probably stick to doing scripted shows.
Chris Kattan came out in jeans and a ugly hoodie, not professional at all. He seemed like he didn't have any material prepared. I love him in all his movies and was super disappointed with his stand up. He kept asking if his time was up and was struggling to come up with funny things to say. Love him but definitely not what I was expecting. Only laughed a few times. The two opening comedians had everyone rolling on the floor laughing. Once Chris Kattan came out the laughter died alot.
Chris Kattan showed up and rested on his laurels. He thought he could just show up in stand on stage and everyone would laugh. He had no prepared material and simply reminisced about SNL sketches and his time on the show. Then when he completely ran out of SNL memories, he started interacting with the crowd in conversational mode. He was just simply talking to the crowd. It was not funny, and I could not wait to leave. Very disappointing.
Chris Kattan was absolutely disappointing. He did not have an act prepared! He talked about his days in SNL (which is fine) but it was not the least funny. After that he went on talking to the audience, which can be fun for a few minutes; however that was his whole show. (He was even heckled by some audience members yelling "that's not funny" or "tell us a joke".)
Terrible. Really disappointing. He was not funny at all. However, the comedian who came on before Chris Kattan was hilarious.
What a waste of our time. The MC was horrible & the headline was worse & Chris Kattan was pathetic...truly very off his game.
The host/hostess was a transexual - she was very funny - enjoyed her a lot. The second guy was also funny and would see both of these people again. Chris was a big disappointment. He seemed depressed or sad, and told a sad story about his dad's passing and losing his inheritance. He flirted too long with a female in the audience, he said some really inappropriate things about a waitress, dropped a lot of famous names, and the worst was when he told of his sexual interaction with a guest on SNL who was in a skit with him that we all remembered. He shouldn't have done that - it was like bragging about his conquest, and this was a young girl who didn't deserve to be treated so disrespectfully. It wasn't funny. He was one of my favorites on SNL, and this show sort of ruined it for me.
