    Excellence in performance!

by Martin1950 on 1/30/18Scherr Forum-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza - Thousand Oaks

The show was excellent! These guys are true pros with a rich history together. The harmonies resonate with ease and polish. The new songs are terrific and their standards never grow old! The audience was packed and everyone enjoyed the music to a standing ovation and resulting encore?

    Accomplished musicians

by Birdwatch on 1/30/18Scherr Forum-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza - Thousand Oaks

Worth it to watch 3 extremely competent performers who like one another play older music that still holds up

    Phenomenal Pickin' at the Plaza

by YankeeY on 1/30/18Scherr Forum-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza - Thousand Oaks

This guitar-only grouping was technically stunning, yet pleasant and soothing at the same time. Sitting in the 2nd row, we were able to closely watch the masterful picking, especially with the mandolins. And the new music is just as refreshing as the classics. Recommend this to anyone that enjoys music!

    Both nostalgic and new

by Jorgensonfan on 9/30/17Birchmere - Alexandria

Way back tunes from Desert Rose and more plus songs from new album. Wish more of it highlighted John Jorgenson's incredible talent since he was the real reason I came.

    In the presence of greatness

by PeridotMoon on 9/30/17Birchmere - Alexandria

Don't know how else to put it. If you have the chance to see them but you're wavering - just go. And once you are sitting in the audience, prepare for chills - the best kind of chills - to traverse your spine as you listen to them perform their timeless musical magic.

    Great First Time

by RobBobRob on 8/31/14Birchmere - Alexandria

First time that I was able to see Chris Hillman. Have been a fan for several years. They were super phabbo. Two guys on stage playing guitar and mandolin for the most part. They sounded like a full band. I enjoyed it immensely. Looking forward to seeing them again.

    Sublime Desert Rose Performance

by BlueTwoReview on 11/6/12Scherr Forum-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts - Thousand Oaks

The Desert Rose Band's songwriting is superb, and they performed these beautiful songs so perfectly. Not only that, but we got to soak up several Byrds and Flying Burrito Brothers songs too! Chris Hillman has one of the best voices I've ever heard, and it sounded better than ever that night. His "Turn, Turn, Turn" brought me to tears. If you don't know it, these are four of the best musicians in the country bringing not only the country genre but folk rock and bluegrass to their concerts. I hope you get a chance to see them in concert--my overall feeling about this show is "sublime!"

They haven't lost a beat, incredible musicianship tied to tight, clean vocal harmonies w/ a genuine love of their fan base. Best unplugged show I've ever seen, one of the best concerts I've ever seen!

I smiled during the complete performance!

by Nosmo on 11/5/12Scherr Forum-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts - Thousand Oaks

I must say that my expectations were more than met by the great concert last evening! Chris, Herb, John and Bill were terrific. It was like sitting in a living room listening to some good friends that just happen to be great musicians and singers. Before the show, I was wondering how they would translate some of the songs for electrified to acoustic. John Jorgenson's masterful playing of the guitar, 12-string and mandolin was as fun to watch as to listen to. I introduced two new friends to Desert Rose and its associated musical parts, and they are now fans, too. For me, I am now exploring John Jorgenson's other recordings and hope to see him live soon.

    WOW

by catlady2 on 10/3/12Peoria Civic Center - Peoria

I went expecting just a concert with Chris and Herb, 2 great performers. What the show was much, much more. A lot of our local talent was showcased both before and after Chris & Herb performed. It was really a great tribute to Dan Fogleberg !
