    Absolutely wonderful!

by Lightning497 on 5/8/23Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

This was my first time seeing Chris de Burg in concert. It was absolutely wonderful. He did some of the classics and went seamlessly from one song to the next adding commentary along the way. I hope he returns soon.

    Chris DeBurgh

by BB on 5/8/23Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

The concert was good… I wish Chris would have played a lot more of his older stuff… He focussed a lot on new stuff and stories!! I saw him once before and this concert was a lot different… Probably because we are all getting older!!! Lol

    Chris De Burgh Vancouver

by Lantz on 5/8/23The Centre in Vancouver - Vancouver

Music was fantastic as anticipated. Loved how the show started with the story telling and then the song(s). What was disappointing was the light show that accompanied some of the songs. The flashing lights were SO bright, intense and non-stop that my partner and I had to keep our eyes closed and tried to focus on the music. Talking with others at intermission and after the show there were many comments of being disappointed with the intensity and length of the lights. Great venue and appreciated the energy from Chris DB.

    Fabulous night

by Mazuntemary on 5/7/23Meridian Centre - St Catharines

We saw Chris DeBurgh in St Catharines. We had tickets in the floor and so glad as we felt like he was playing for us in a cozy venue. His voice and story telling ability are strong and imaginative as ever It was such a pleasure to hear some lovely older stories and lots of new ones. Thanks Chris for your tunes and insightful lyrics as poignant and timely today as yesterday ❤️

    Outstanding performance!!!

by Chris W on 5/7/23The Centre in Vancouver - Vancouver

My wife and I traveled to Vancouver, BC to see Chris de Burgh on the 4th of May. Outstanding show. Being 74 his voice isn’t what it used to be but he put on a stellar 2 ½ hour performance. The first 45 minutes was just Chris, on either piano or 12 string guitar, then the band joined him for another 45 minutes. They took a short break, then came back and played a rockin’ hour of hits. Excellent small venue (Performing Arts Center of Vancouver), amazing acoustics, great lighting. Being what I’d guess would be called folk or pop, he’s a storyteller at heart. With 22 studio albums, I suppose he’s still only known to most people for his 1986 single “Lady in Red” but he’s written tons of great songs. He’s apparently sensitive about reviews and refused to come back to the States after a tour in the 80s. But he tours Europe, South America, Africa and Canada pretty regularly so we kept saying we should go. We had tickets for May of 2022, which was cancelled due to the pandemic. Fingers crossed for this year and it finally happened. Short flights, just under a hour to Seattle, a half hour from there into Vancouver, BC. Air travel, security, customs…all a hassle but this show was worth it. Here's the setlist from Vancouver, BC as I recall it plus Chris did a short medley in honor of Gordon Lightfoot. 1. The Hands of Man 2. Go Where Your Heart Believes 3. Missing You 4. The Tower 5. Lonely Sky 6. In a Country Churchyard 7. The Light on the Bay 8. Have a Care 9. My Heart's Surrender 10. The Storm 11. Greater Love 12. The Moonfleet Finale 13. The Ballroom of Romance 14. Spanish Train 15. A Spaceman Came Travelling 16. The Tale of Robin Hood 17. Home From the War, Pt.1 18. Live Life, Live Well 19. We've Got the Money 20. Borderline 21. The Lady in Red 22. Africa (Toto cover) 23. Don't Pay the Ferryman 24. The Spirit of Man 25. High on Emotion Encore: 26. Patricia the Stripper 27. Legacy

    Wow!

by Bargy Baby on 5/6/23The Centre in Vancouver - Vancouver

Just the consummate artist!! Still has his voice- albeit a bit of trouble getting to the high notes. Band was great. Set list was wonderful. He used a lot of canned back up music (strings, horns, etc) as the band was only four piece. Light show was bright( I was warned so I brought my shades). Tribute to Lightfoot was so nice!

    Irish Spring Showtime!

    by E. K. on 4/27/23Meridian Centre - St Catharines

A complete concert performance experience: de Burgh's vocal expression along with accompaniment on keyboard, guitar and band provided a consummate show of song, instrumentation interspersed with intriguing anecdotes in a humorous, personable presentation of talent. Highlights included favourite tunes, of course: "Lady in Red" reached a climactic conclusion, leading to a further series of encores that kept audience engaged and hopping to the beat and melodies he and his orchestral ensemble played. Beyond that, I experienced a 3-decade-long wait to hear his signature number""Country Churchyard", performed in late 80s, performed by a local band under Barry Carr. A memorable evening in Meridian Centre, well worth the couple hour drive to St. Catherine's, Ontario!!

    American fan

    by Lynette on 2/21/23

I have been three times to England to see him at royal abert hall and Birmingham in concert along with countless times in Montreal and Ottawa. Last time I went to Montreal a few years back he had the nerve to make comments regarding American politics, and was alluding to over there across the boarder. Does he not realize that half of America voted for president Trump, and some of those people might be in his audience. That left a very bad taste in my mouth and I haven’t listened to a cd since. Loved his music, but I can’t bring myself back from that night. Wanted to throw the 40 dollar tee shirt I had just bought at him. Maybe he should worry about his own politics in his own country.

by Feverfew7 on 10/23/17Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

In his latest concert he kept the music going. Reminded me of how wonderful he has been for over 30 years. Memories flooded my mind as I listened to his melodic voice.

    A very enjoyable event

by Chadley on 10/12/17Meridian Centre - St Catharines

The first time I have seen Chris De Burgh in concert, though I have enjoyed his music for a long time. He played many old favorites and some wonderful new songs. I was surprised when he declined to sing "Patricia the Stripper" when requested but that was clarified later. Also the first time to attend anything at that arena - very nice, not big, great acoustics, comfortable.
